I've lived in Chicago and have visited NYC, so I've had my "fair" share of good azz pizza. I don't know why BUT I really like the pizza at Antonio's Flying Pizza on Hilcroft! It's just really damned good, IMO. What do you all think? What/where is you favorite pizza/joint? mmmmm pizza, think I'll hit that joint again this weekend...
Are you talking about that green stuff they use in Tomato Sauce and stuff? That's Oregano silly! my vote is for Pizza Hut. I don't get to eat a lot of pizza...
Tie: The Silo north of Chicago. I think it's technically in Deerfield, but I'm not sure. Pizza My Heart in downtown Santa Cruz and Capitola, CA. Hydra, go have a slice of pesto or clam and garlic for me. Yum.
Fuzzy's is pretty good, they have about four locations around Houston... Star Pizza is good, although way over-rated. They have a decent lunch buffet which includes tea and a salad for less than $8! Biba's Greek Pizza on Memorial is tasty. I love their crust. For fast food, Schlotzsky's makes a good individual pizza... At the Summit, er...Laptop, er... Lakewood Church... Pizza Hut makes a decent individual pizza. Sometimes the pizza at Whole Foods is ok, most of the time the crust is paper thin and alot of times it's over-cooked. I'd like to try Collina's pizza, they have a new location in the Heights. mmmm-mmmm pizza!
I like Two Rows' pizza in the village. also, if you're ever in NY, check out Luigi's on 87th and 1st av.
Oh my gawd... how could I forget... Kenneally's Irish Pub Pizza!!!! Kenneally's on Shepherd has some really awesome pizza, a beautiful thin crust, tangy sauce, nice toppings, great with a cold draft brew!!
4 places: Fuzzy's Barry's Lasagna House and my personal favorite...Pizza Roma on Dairy Ashford and Whittington. the Chicago style pizza there is unbelievable. best pizza i've ever eaten?? two all time faves... there used to be a place called Panjo's here in Houston when I was growing up...GREAT pizza! my wife's family is from Little Rock...they have a place called Shotgun Dan's there that is GREAT pizza! very crisp thin crust...really good! i'm hungry!!!
Coming on fast is "New York Pizzeria." Those big slices rule! My opinion on Fuzzy's is that its still good, but hasn't been "insanely great" since the days they were a single location on Antoine. Back in the day, hanging out, playing the last "Gorf" machine in the city, and waiting what seemed like 6 hours for the best pizza ever (you used to be able to watch them tossing the dough and everything) was just the absolute best way to blow a Sunday afternoon/evening. BTW, when you are visiting Fuzzy's on Fondren, beeee careful. Houston's church of Scientology is in that same center.
Best pizza in Houston? Collina's. If you go, order the individual size. It has more toppings per square inch and tastes the best.
