I agree, there's nothing wrong with your point guard being a rebounder. Ask Oscar Robertson or Fat Lever.

    Don't forget Gary Payton!

1 and 2 are definitely Kidd and Payton. I don't think Steve will ever reach their levels in terms of being a great overall pointguard.

But Steve should be better than Nash and Marbury. Last season, they severely outplayed him. It was sad to watch. Steve needs to step it up.

Baron Davis, if healthy, is perhaps above Steve. And if Lebron plays point, who knos?

Maria...wow, there is this great Sound of Music joke, but another time...

You probably haven't been here long enough to notice that there is currently a huge wave of negative sentiment towards new posters with some people, particularly new posters who start a thread within a post or two of entering. I thought that your post asked a legit question, and was trying to offer some constructive criticism, partly to pre-empt some negative reactions. I had not, at the time, noticed that there was another, more...er...prevailing reason why that kind of reception was unlikely...;)

Sorry if you took it as patronizing; I thought I had avoided that with the qualifiers ( " friendly reminder, just my opinion." ) My intention was to help, and anyone in here will tell you that I do not make a habit out of insulting other posters, and always try to deal with newer posters based on the contents of their posts rhather than the quantity of their post count...* violins swelling in the background*...Er, that's all I have to say..* violins come to a screaching halt.*

If Francis would cut down his turnovers...
Then, he'd be the best in the league.

    Simple as that.

Rebounds, schrebounds....!!! That has nothing to do with offensive efficiency.

I'm talking about Gary Patyton numbers of the past.

    20ppg, 8.5apg, 2.7topg <--Gary Payton
    20ppg, 6.4apg, 3.7topg <--Steve Francis

    An efficient floor leader!

That's what Francis should shoot for. We already know he can score. But he's not efficient. He's sloppy.

Until then, he'll be an underachieving point guard.

As of now he's probably the 5th best PG, in his total game.

    Kidd
    Payton <---still has game!
    Marbury
    Nash
    Francis

Francis- Playmaking- POOR, Passing Ability-POOR, Desire to make Assists-POOR, Defence-POOR, Turnovers-POOR, Getting the ball down the Court -FAIR, Team Player-FAIR, Shooting-GOOD, Athleticism-GOOD. Court Vision-GOOD,Desire to Win-
GOOD, As a Person-GOOD. JVG will demand that Francis have a change in his mind set[like in the All Star Game] and all of the inabilities become positive factors.[That is if he is still the starting Point Guard]. Francis could become a great Point Guard instead of just a great player and an OK Point Guard.

Duh... it is obvious that person is Homer and there is nothing wrong with that.

I would have to Jason Kidd is the best PG. He makes everybody on his team better b/c he gets them involved. Followed by Gary Payton, the only PG who plays hardnose defense.

Franchise is the best jumper of the all the PG. He gotz majot ups!

WHY JASON KIDD IS OVERATTED!!!!! Kidd gets way too much credit for turning around the New Jersey Franchise. I believe the Rockets had a lot to do with the new jersey turnaround also. We gave them Jefferson. Kidd was traded straight up for marbaury and instantly the Nets went to the finals. However, people tend to overlook the other factors involved in this deal. Kenyon Martin and Kerry Kittles were both injury proned when Marbaury was there. Two of their starters. Todd Maccoulough who made serious contributions in there first year also came with Kidd along with Jefferson. So basically Kidd came with brand new lineup. In my opinion J Kidd is overated because he can't shoot worth a lick. He gets just as many turnovers as Steve. Francis battles him to a draw in rebounds. Kidd plays better D, but Francis would light him up on the offensive end. In my opinion Steve Francis is one of the best gaurds in the nba. Definately better than J Kidd
