I just moved to NYC for the summer. I, along with most of the people I hang out with, enjoy going out, but most of the time, don't like the fru-fru bars. It's nice to go to a place like that every couple weeks, but on a nightly basis, I mostly enjoy low key bars to hang out with and grab a couple cheap beers.

I found one last night called Blind Tiger, but would prefer one a little further north. So New Yorkers, whatcha got? What's your favorite?

    Rudy's

    44th and 9th ave

Bar none the best dive in the city. free hotdogs and popcorn all the time. $6 pitchers. Old naugahyde booths from the 20's (careful you might stick :)) And the best dam jukebox in the city. Everything from Frank Zappa to Frank Sinatra.

During the day it's filled with old drunks drinking away their SS checks but at night it fills with some of the hottest bodies in the city.

    trust me...

Hey I live 14 blocks north of that place, I should try it out.
Oh wait...is it open til 4am? I think I was there one night very very late.

Coppersmiths on 9th Ave and 52nd or 51st has burger and beer for $7 on Thursdays...I usually do that 2x a week.

The Brooklyn Inn on Bergen Ave. Take the F or the G to Bergen street. That place has a great juke box, good beer, and pool.

For future reference....trust this man. All the city looks incredible tonight, and Rudy's was no exception. Thanks for the recc.

I just wish I didn't have to work tomorrow.

TL glad you liked it! I pulled my first serious NY drunk in that bar about 12 years ago.

    :)
