I just got a new faster computer and added broadband so I'm finally ready to step into the 21st century and start burning my own CD's. Now that Napster is gone, which sites would you recommend (ie. best selection, most user friendly, best quality etc.)? Any feedback would be appreciated.
yeah i would say pretty much no reason to not use kazaalite. kazaa is the best and kazaa lite doesn't have the spyware stuff. stuff doesn't seem to get up on kazaa as quick as it did in the napster days (or even audiogalaxy days) but there is still a ton of stuff on it.
if you grab kazaa lite or kazaa, make sure to look up barley von on the video search. I put a lot of my skits on there.
I dont use it, but from what I understand, Kazaa has spyware attached to it...and the Lite version doesn't.
It is a small program that is installed with the larger program to keep track of where you visit, or in this case probably what types of music you download...it then will send that information to the advertising agency or whatever company that it is connected to.
I love Kazzaa. Lately I've been searching for top 50 of all other countries to download. This site has been useul to me: http://www.top40-charts.com/charts.php
Imesh or Soulseek http://www.imesh.com http://www.slsk.org if you use imesh or an other file sharing program be sure to get Ad-Aware to rid your system of any spyware. Even if you don't DL any file sharing program, get ad-aware anyway, you'll be surprised at what's on your system. http://www.lavasoft.de
Cool, thanks. I'm not sure I like the idea of spyware... I think I'll try the lite. Isn't there one called Atomic somthing-or-other?
I use Grokster, and find it pretty adequate, but don't know anything about spyware. I think I have ad-aware, though. There does seem to be a lot of pop-up ads, though.
I have been using Bearshare for a while now, the thing about it is that you have to download and install a small program with it called Save, and Weather cast.
