    ***Spoiler***
There is a movie called Reuben Reuben, that I like a lot. It has my favorite ending of any movie. The name of the movie is basically the ending and that's what makes it so classic My description won't do it justice at all, but I'll give it anyway.

There is a depressed, drunken poet, who goes to give a talk and stay for a while in a New Enlgand town. His ex-wife is writing a tell-all book about him. He falls in love with a woman in the town. The wonan's father or grandfather has a dog named Reuben.

A local dentists wife is after the poet, and he eventually sleeps with her, and then has his mouth wrecked by the dentist. All this stuff goes badly for him, and he contemplates suicide. He's poor, he steals tips, he gets beaten up for referring to a redneck type person as a heterosexual, etc.

So finally he's standing on a chair getting ready to hang himself. But at the last moment he decides not to. He's getting ready to get down when the big St. Bernard named Reuben comes in. Reuben approaches the rickety chair. The poet's last words before the dog knocks the chair over hanging the man are 'Reuben Reuben.'

Before the ending the dog didn't play that big of a role, and there seemed to be little reason to name the film after the dog. It was really a great ending.

I liked the ending of Wild Things...Of course, I loved the girl on girl action...;)

On a side note, I saw Star Wars Ep. II on HBO this Sunday and was it me or was the acting terrible...The movie dragged on and on...

Without a doubt, Old School. You won't find the antagonists getting better comeuppance anywhere.

Maybe if you're on acid. Otherwise, it's just crazy weird. What the heck was up with that strange room and the old man and the giant fetus?

The Eastwood westerns have the best endings ever:

Good, Bad & Ugly: "Blondie! You know what you are! Just a dirty son of a b--- *waaaaawaawawawaaa*!"

Few Dollars More: "Any trouble boy?" "No old man. Thought I was having trouble with my adding. It's all right now."

    I also like....

    Fight Club: Tyler Durden revealed!

Bloodsport: Chong Li finally gets what he deserves.

Rocky 4: Super corny, but I love Rocky's comeback. "He's cut! Drago is cut!"

Rocky. Agree. To this day most people still thinks he wins the fight. It was just classic Philadelphia through and through. and he gives you hints all he wants to do is finish the whole way thruogh the movie. But you still don't see it comin. Great ending.

Field of Dreams has a pretty good ending too. I didn't see the ending coming and it really made you feel something.

By the way, Shawshank wasn't supposed to end on the beach. But they tried that ending out and everbody thought it was so much better, including myself, they went with it. Good ending as far as completing the theme of the movie.

Bas News Bears was great too. Totally unexpected and hilarious.

    I am with Vengeance.

Nothing will ever top the ending to The Sixth Sense. I mean, no one can honestly say that they saw that ending coming. Heck, the ending is what made that movie. I remember seeing that and just feeling .....like ...........WHOA!!!!!

Good call on Shawshank. It's my favorite ever surprise "happy ending." And the rest of the movie was so bleak -- it works so well by contrast.

My fav: The end of Empire Strikes Back. For those of you who are old enough, remember back to when it came out in 1980. (I was only a little kid, then, but I still remember).

This was the darkest, ballsiest cliffhanger of all-time. The main character just got his hand cut off. He finds out his arch-enemy is his father. The other main character might be dead. And that haunting, final shot of Luke and Leia looking out the window into space? Money. I've seen that movie a hundred times, and the last 20 minutes still gives me goosebumps.

Sixth Sense. Completely got me...and left me going over the whole movie as I left the theatre.

Rocky -- an all time classic

and, now that it's been mentioned -- Dirty Mary Crazy Larry's ending was great.

That's not how the movie ended. It ends with the main character going back to China and finding the siblings that she never knew she had. Then they end up in a threeway.

Oh wait, my bad. I'm thinking of "The Joy (Use your Imagination) Club"
