Ditto. I used to hate "I Want To Know What Love Is" until it was used quite effectively in a Quantum Leap episode.
How can Cold as Ice not be #1? It was playing on the radio, when the guys in my family was rear ended by a cargo van going full speed over a hill. I was pinned under the dash. My brother was jammed between the front and back seats and my Dad was pinned between the front seat and the streering wheel. What a second... This explains everything!!! Age might also play a part. I turn 40 in October. Jukebox hero was cool in HS, but they played it out.
Went to Foreigner, Styx, Blue Oyster Cult concert last fall and going to Foreigner, Styx, and Def Leppard concert in NY Aug 15. Best Foreigner song: Juke Box Hero
The best Foreigner song? Are you freaking kidding me? No one picked this?: "Women behind bars Women in fast cars Women in distress Women with no dress Women in aeroplanes Women who play games Women in uniform See that woman with her clothes torn Women who satisfy Women you can't buy Like women in magazines And women in a limousine Women who sip champagne Women who feel no pain Women in a disco And women who don't wanna know, know, know Oh women wanting sympathy Women feeling ecstasy Women who live in fantasies Bringing man to his knees Women who fall in love Women who need a shove Women who can't be beat Get that woman in the back seat, yeah, yeah Women in the U.S.A. Those women steal your heart away Women into rock 'n' roll Women who steal the show, go, go, go Women that you write songs about Women that turn around and kick you out Women you dream about all your life Women that stab you in the back with a switchblade knife"
Most of their songs sort of have that "suck" or "wuss" vibe for me, not sure why. I picked "Double Vision" - heard that on the radio this morning, but also because it's the only one of these from which I'm not likely to switch the station.
Juke Box Hero. Without question. Actually, I rewrote the lyrics to it in honor of a friend of mine a few years ago, called "5 f*** hero." My version was about a friend of mine who typically nails a bunch of "5's."
That was one of my favorites as well. I don't recall it being played much on the radio during the time. It's not on one of their "hits" album either. Double Vision is #1 for me.
