Personally I think I would look at PF first and try to stay as far away as possible from the tattooed wonder Cherokee Parks. Don't you agree GATER? Tyrone Hill our Gary Trent both bring qualities the Rockets could use while on the floor such as rebounding and defense. Either would be fine with me at the vets minimum.
The Bill Russell joke/sarcasm was pretty funny.. but you killed it here... sorry no offense... anyways i think why dont we ship off glen rice to utah (they need to reach the minimum), sign stephen jackson AND WALAH we are set ready to go... I would really love stephen jackson... Im sure after he realizes that no one wants to give him a big contract he will sign for at least the half of our MLE... or just the minimum.. its all cool....
guys i would want, Tmo and hawk back if not then tyrone hill jim jackson kenny anderson or mark jackson and definatly raja bell, poor mans posey which isnt very much but better than what weve got, cuz hes young
I dont feel like watching them sit on the bench.. they look so miserable when sitting on the bench doing nothing...
Stephen Jackson is the only one I would offer the rest of the MLE too (2.4 mil). Personally, I think we should put on a full court press for him and offer anything just short of a Andersn/Maloney-esk all out promise of a big future contract guarranted after 2 or 3 years. Forget the back up PG position. We have Francis and are deep at the 2 guard with Mobley and Pike so Francis minutes should be very limited there. Mooch had a bad season last year, but if we get a player in between last year and the year before--which I think we should--we should be fine for our back-up 1 minutes. Mooch is certainly better than the even worse shooting Vaugh and the moloassus-plodding can't-shoot locker-room-disruption in Mark Jackson. Now if Charlie Ward is still out there he could beat out Moochie for the back-up 1 minutes. In sum we have much bigger problems in our 3 spot and 4 spots and if any future acquisition is made that is likely where it should be done. S. Jackson is the best move, Hill, Nailon, Trent, Ellis, JJ--are all Ok for the vet min. JJ would be a good fit skillwise but he never seems to be on teams/coaches good terms.
T-Mo is a good option. He can be 3rd string at the 3 and the 4. If he's still been working on his shot, and it has improved, then we'll regret letting him go. He is one player we should've kept on the bench. Shoots a very high %, rebounds, blocks shots, plays D, plays withing the flow, and does exactly what he's told. He's also got great size and fairly good athleticism (relative to NBA players). I hope he's our 12th player, because we definitely need help at the 3, especially if Rice comes to camp out os shape, and Boki is the next Dan Langhi.
