ok, after finishing watching training day, and thinking, hmm, that was good, but maybe it needed a better ending, i was thinking about movie endings. which one was the best? which movie, without spoiling it for anybody, did you think had the best ending?

in my opinion, i would have to go with 'the usual suspects'. that movie has the greatest ending. after that i would say the sixth sense.

    happy monday

Before I even read your post, I was thinking "Sixth Sense".

That ending, IMO, is hard to top. No one can honestly say they saw that coming. Not to mention the fact that the ending just gave me the chills big time.

    6th Sense - I totally agree

The Unforgiven - Best Eastwood film ever

The Empire Strikes Back - Luke, I am your father

Soylent Green - more for the comedy it inspired

Usual Suspects, I agree. But I guess 6th Sense must be pretty scary. After someone told me the ending, I am not so eager to watch that one anymore. Seven also had a pretty twisted ending. Arlington Road as well...as Another Brother will be able to confirm! :)

Yes, as the director and the producer's careers survived somehow. :p

The Shawshank Redemption was the only movie that had the ending that I WANTED to happen and it did.

I'll put Sixth Sense at the top of the list with it's ending. Just an average movie until the last couple of minutes completly changed the way you looked at the entire film. That was the biggest jaw dropper ever with Usual Suspects running second.

Maybe not surprisising but should be put in the class of memorable are Pulp Fiction, The Shining, and Taxi Driver. Pulp Fiction was truely inovative and inspired a lot of copy cat movies. When you think about the Shining and Taxi Driver the two things that come to you first are Jack with and axe and DeNiro with a mohawk. Another classic would be Casablanca.
