First and foremost, ranking "the best" in anything is purely subjective. IMHO, as a musician, the "best drummer" has everything to do with meter and nothing to do with flash. My vote as the "best drummer" goes to a guy whose internal metronome is impeccable, and, in his entire life, he's never used a click track in a recording studio. Therefore, I'll put my money on this man as the "best drummer"... <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/S3FUA0Hj7fI"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/S3FUA0Hj7fI" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
Damn, using your context, you are so ****ing right! Absolutely love the guy. Highly underrated by people who don't pay attention, IMO.
I always thought Dave Grohl was underrated. He was fantastic on the album he did with Queens of the Stone Age.
