My experience with arenas is pretty sparse, but I found the American Airlines Center to not be quite as good a game experience as Reunion Arena. There just wasn't a bad seat in Reunion (partly because there were no luxury suites pushing the upper deck higher, but even the lower bowl seemed more comfortable to me). Now the AAC concourses and everything are light-years nicer than Reunion. I haven't watched a game from the upper deck at the AAC, but I've heard it's awfully steep and far removed from the action.
