one reason we better make some good acquisitions for this season is we lack a solid bench already.

    I like the starters:

Yao, TMac, JJ, Howard and Lue.

But Nachbar, Gaines, MoTay, Spoon is a weak bench.

that's what we had last year and we were beat most often due to the difference in bench scoring.

Maybe Boki is going to be super duper, but he may be about the same come game day.

I doubt we have enough outside shooting on our bench to prevent losing point differential on bench scoring.

Come on Rockets get us one more solid player, either to start or come off the bench.

    Just one, please.

I don't think our bench players would be that big a deal if some of them weren't starting. :)

You forgot about Piatkowski and A. Griffin - not that that helps matters much.

Clearly, the Rockets need to try and find another PG and another bigman and hope that at least 3 of the bench players can play somewhat significant minutes and be effective. MoT has his deficiencies, but he can do this. We need 2 more.

AG coming off the bench? Is there really any reason to think he will play at all this year? Remember that Mavs fan telling us how we should expect nothing but for him to be hurt last year? Looks like he was right.

If Boki has a really great preseason or Adrian Griffin comes back totally recovered from injury, maybe the Rockets should consider having JJ come off the bench to strengthen the 2nd unit.

MoT will be our offense off the bench. If there's anything we need is some outside shooters. Pike and Nachbar were supposed to be our outside threat. We're still waiting for that to materialize. Scott Padgett is a nice bench player. He needs to get more time. I remember that everytime that he got PT, he'd do something special.

I think we really need to add a dynamic bench player, someone who changes the complexion of the game when he steps on the court. Mo did that to a certain extent simply because he was the exact opposite of Cato, but he and Howard are a little too similar for him to make the same difference, I think.

I would LOVE to trade Howard for Desmond Mason straight up, and I think Milwaukee, who already has KVH, would strongly consider it, but it would just leave us too thin at the 4.

Since we missed out on Brent, I'd love to bring in Jon Barry. Great energy guy right there.
