I'm not trying to start another useless thread about players we need and will never get and deals that are sweet for us and unrealistic for them BUT
Ben Wallace is 6 foot 9 and is the second leading rebounder in the league. He earns 4 mil next season and will be signed for another five years for 27.5 mil. He'll be earning the same amount in the last year of his contract as we're paying Cato right now.
If we're interested in a center who can rebound this is our man. He grabs 13 boards per game and blocks about two shots all in about 35 minutes. Granted he is the Pistons second minutes-leader and still under contract, but my point is that if the Rocks are looking to make a trade, possibly involving Cato (fingers crossed) then we should look long and hard at Detroit. Obviously Joe Dumars isn't dumb enough to fall for this trick so we'd have to sweeten the deal a bit.
Anyways just wanted to see if anyone had anything to say about Ben Wallace.

He tries hard! Can't hit a free throw to save his life, but makes up for it with non-stop hustle and gets after every rebound available.

I don't think Ben wants to play C though...

Ben played Center all last season. He doesn't care what position he plays, he just wants to beat the tar out of people. He actually led the league in total rebounds (he played in more games than Mutombo) and led the league in rebounds per game and blocked shots after the all-star break (or close to it).

That said, he ain't going anywhere. There would have to be a huge return for Detroit to even consider dealing him. And when I say huge, I mean huge as in very good player, not size. He will be defensive player of the year soon.

Hmmm...interesting he went to Virginia Union, and he sounds like a Charles Oakley with a little more defense, but a little less offense. One bad thing: Felton Spencer (yes that Felton) scored 15 points in a half against him on the final day of the regular season. Also, Kurt Thomas obbliterated him on the boards in that game 14 to 6.
