Bobby Brown in court over children's trust Date: Wednesday, May 04, 2005 By: The Associated Press, APonline A family court judge on Wednesday gave R&B singer Bobby Brown two days to prove he has the income to fund educational trusts for two of his children. Norfolk County Family Court Judge Paula Carey gave Brown, who lives in Georgia, until Friday to produce contracts showing he has enough income to establish the trusts. Brown, a Roxbury native, said he didn't know the payments hadn't started. "I've been shooting a television show and recording an album, so it's hard," he said. "For me, it's easy to not know that a payment is not paid because other people are supposed to pay them." Last year, Brown was jailed for a day after he failed to pay $63,500 in child support payments he owed Kim Ward of Stoughton. He was released after making the payment. Brown was summoned to court in March after falling behind on his payments, said Patrick McDermott, the court's Register of Probate. By Wednesday, Brown had caught up on the payments but still hadn't established the educational trusts he'd promised to set up years ago, McDermott said. Brown, 36, told Carey he had money coming in from reality TV and music projects. He is expected to make four payments totaling $160,000 within the next six months to establish the trusts. Brown, who lives in Alpharetta, north of Atlanta, with his wife, Whitney Houston, will be the subject of a new eight-episode reality TV show, "Being Bobby Brown," that will debut June 30 on Bravo.
How many kids does he have? I know he married Whitney at a young age, and they have one... looks like he has some others in some other places, though. Oh well. He always said he "sees nothing wrong with spreading his stuff around"... In terms of the payments, maybe he shouldn't have budgeted so much for drug money...
Here's my Bobby Brown story. A long time ago in a city far, far away I went to see a New Edition concert. This was AFTER Bobby had left the group and had gone solo. To make the night even better, Al B. Sure was there too. So, Bobby is the opening act. After one of his songs he says, " I don't know why the f**k I'm the opening act...". It was hilarious and he went on the show why he sucks as a live singer.
I heard about the TV show the other night. It's completely sick that reality TV has gone so far as to follow Bobby Brown. And BRAVO.... What the hell are they thinking? Do they really assume that people are such reality TV addicts that they'd watch this show?
Damn, I just watched the VH1 Beheind the Music of New Edition last weekend. I got all nostalgic for ricky, johnny, ronnie, mikey, ralphie, and even lil' bobby.
All I know is I saw my favorite Behind the Music the other day about New Edition. Great stuff!!! Johnny Gill was freaking aweseome! I grew up on that stuff...
I used to think Bobby ruined Whitney. Now I realized they're both F***** up and deserve each other. Just say no to crack.
So I guess it is safe to say that Johnny "rub(bed) you the right way"? Bad pun, I know but I remember listening to that song about 50 times in 3 days back in high school. Good times, indeed.
It's a good idea, actually. I can only imagine the type of stuff that could happen when both Bobby and Whitney get cracked out together. Fights, police raids, Bobby sending Whitney out to do tricks for blow, no telling what types of hijinks we'll see.
I saw a show about Whitney, she was not the angel everyone thought she was when she got with Bobby. I think he just let her relax and be her crackhead self.
The question is who the hell doesn't have a Reality TV show... As far as Bobby, I can't imagine someone being so, well bobby...
