This is all a customers computer does when it boots up. It beeps eight times puases and starts again. The computer will not get through the start up point. Blank screen. What the heck causes this? I have changed the processor, heatsink, FDD and CD, and IDE cables.

You need to check the BIOS documentation (probably can be found online somewhere)...it should tell you what the beep pattern represents.

In my experiences in the past, if the computer beeps on the initial boot up, it's usually a dead motherboard or bad/unseated RAM stick.

Agreed. Usually those beeps indicate bad RAM unless it is a VERY old computer, in which case the beeps could indicate a bad video card.

Before you invest too much money in replacing various components, replace the BIOS battery.

It could just be really dusty inside. My sister's machine would make funky beeps and would not boot up. After a good cleaning at the computer shop it was fine.
