I'm a Network Manager w/ a focus on Information Security - from laws all the way down to packet level analysis. So as for computer hardware - vid cards, modems, etc.. that's not my thing. But if you need me to audit your network and let you know how insecure and non-compliant it is, let me know! As for other experts I can think of.. Ballroom Dancing - pasox2 UT Sports- Baqui99, drapg
Well, I guess I can see how those two things might be related... Count on me for: -Need a band for your party or wedding? Shoot me an email. -Anything drum related including teaching -Renting cars (I worked for Enterprise for 3+ years) -Every single Phil Hendrie "character" in the history of the show along with all of their individual idiosyncracies. -Anything 80's (may have to defer to Omega Supreme however) Oh yeah, and anything Weezer!
R2K rocks when it comes to computers; I know firsthand. Me, I know a little about systems, particularly hardware. But that just comes from having built my last three. I'm not in some of these other guys league, but I know a thing or two. I'm also well versed in things Video Game.
I fancy myself as the following: 1) Classical Music Guru (despite what rimmy says ) 2) Baseball Historian 3) Simpsons and Seinfeld (more Simpsons though) freak 4) Doormat for on-line fantasy football leagues
Some test questions: 1) Name the all brother outfield of the SF Giants in 1963 2) Who was known as "The Toy Cannon"? 3) WHat charge was Cesar Cedeno convicted of in 1973? 4) Who played first base for the Chicago Cubs in 1951? (He was famous for other reasons.) These are for Manny only. Manny, no goggling the answers.
Okay #1 is Jesus Alou, Felipe Alou, and Matty Alou. #2 is Jimmy Wynn No clue on #3, but I will guess drug possession. Hmm, on #4, I could use my all-time baseball book and get the answer to it, but I won't do that. For some reason, I am thinking it was the "Rifleman", Chuck Connors, but he may have only played with Brooklyn and never with the Cubs.
3 out of 4, not bad. Cedeno was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the death of his girlfriend.
R2K is not our only expert on fish and tanks. There are several of us here. I, however, was the only one consulted by the staff of Michael Dukakis regarding tanks. I suggested a different helmet, but was ignored. The rest is history.
Here are some of mine... Music (bass playing, equipment, recording, theory) 80's hard rock Web Design Business (owning and operating) Local Politics (Houston) Media-related Issues Dream Interpretion (wierd but true)
-Guitar and (to a lesser extent) bass equipment - I either know everything by heart or can find an answer in minutes. -NBA draft (this is a seasonal expertise that arises after the NCAA championship: I couldn't really tell you squat right now)
i disagree... A-Train professed that he liked Gigli. i'm not a real expert, but i've seen enough movies to give advice.
Harrisment, 3 months interning at the college district, and half way done working on my Bachelors. the rest of my experience is as a independent consu;ltant...mainly hardware, but have installed and configured a couple of small business networks. Ill get back to ya on the resume...Im overhauling it at the moment. thanks.. Deckard is right...I know my fish and tanks..but I aint the only one. He knows a lot and Doc does also...there are a couple of others who's names escape me at the moment. jeff's post reminds me that I am also a expert in the uncommonly needed field of hard rock/heavy metal from the 70's- 90's. and I would also like to second the nomination of the grillmaster... the man knows how to do a helluva brisket....I aint too shabby...but I am a mear padawa comapred to the mighty Behad.
I'd like to offer my services in regards to: Movies Dune the Silmarillion Current Baseball, current sports i suppose
I know a thing or two about Star Wars, Sci-Fi, Simpsons, early punk rock, graphic arts, and buddhist philosophy.
There are many who know more than me, but I have many years experience in the following: Site work in general and in particular Construction planning -estimating cost/ time schedule Developing a scope of work for a contract Heavy equipment-cost & usage Surveying as realted specifically to estimating Project management Asphalt paving concrete construction-not so much structural concrete If someone wanted to get an idea of cost to pave their driveway - I could figure the material and approximate cost for labor
Do you work in Connecticut? I might need your help in a couple of months depending on the house we buy. You would think a $300k+ house would buy you a paved driveway..... but NOOOOO.
