I was probably most shocked to see AK and TN move into the Kerry column. The margin is small, and the polls are early, so they don't mean a whole lot at this point, but I am amazed that Kerry even stands a chance in those states.
A new poll will be out a day after labor day. That is when is starts to get a little serious. I will be interested to see how the GOP convention will do next week. The poll watching season is about to get wild.
I'm glad im not a Republican right now, but to think of it, I'm not that big a Democrat either. /Go Nader //just kidding.
The polls will mean much more after the RNC. Right now Kerry should be ahead, they'be had the DNC so he should have the momentum.
Nadir is an egomaniac millionaire in a cheap suit. No Worries, however, is one cool dude, whether he really likes Nadir or not.
In Virginia, the Attorney General said the state *must* accept Nader's campaign petitions, in defiance of the decision by state election officials. He's also the head of the Bush-Cheney reelection team in Virginia. http://www.whsv.com/news/headlines/963261.html Attorney General: SBE Must Accept Nader's Campaign Petitions RICHMOND, Va. (AP) The attorney general's office said today the State Board of Elections must accept petitions submitted by Ralph Nader's presidential campaign. In a letter to SBE Secretary Jean Jensen, Attorney General Jerry Kilgore advises the state's top elections official to reverse Friday's decision to reject Nader's qualifying papers. Kilgore says there is no evidence that a state rule requiring campaigns to submit signed petitions grouped according to congressional district was ever approved by the board and can't be enforced. Jensen cited the rule Friday in rejecting the Nader's petitions, effectively denying him a spot on Virginia's presidential election ballot in November. Nader's campaign coordinator in Virginia, Jim Polk, lauded the move, saying they made sure they were "within the letter of the law." Democrats have challenged Nader's efforts to qualify for the ballot in several states, fearful that votes for Nader will deprive John Kerry of votes. Kilgore is a Republican, and head of the Bush-Cheney re-election team in Virginia. (Copyright 2004 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.)
Here's a pro-Bush website that gives Kerry a 311-227 advantage presently. Election Projection Personally, when it's all said and done, I think that Kerry takes either Nevada, New Mexico, Florida, and Pennsylvania. I'll give Bush the nod in Ohio, Missouri, and Arizona.
