Just saw it at the dollar movies. Wow! What a piece of crap! I didnt think it would be good, but it surpassed my lowest of lows. Did anyone here get suckered into paying full price for this suck-fest? ------------------ No signature for you!
I did, such a load of garbage. ------------------ please venture to atheistalliance and rocketsonline I AM SPARTACUS
I saw some of it. Has to be one of the dumbest of all time. I lost what little respect I had for Travolta. ------------------ In Rudy I trust.
From what I've read of L Ron Hubbard, they probably tried to stay true to his writing. (I haven't read Battlefield Earth.) Problem is, he writes some strange stuff. I didn't think it was that bad, but you deffinitely have to be in the right frame of mind! It's deffinitely NOT the next Star Wars, as some reviewers suggested. But, it's probably better than Bruce Willis's little sci-fi experiment, The Fifth Element. I thought the most interesting part was Travolta's little experiment to find out humans' favorite food. ------------------ Stay Cool...
I just saw some place that had B.E. action figures for $10!! hahahahha! dc, I like ssci-fi if it is good(and not just Star Wars). And I agree they probly tried to stuff too much of his wwriting into the movie. It is really hard to shove the detail of a book into a movie. Different media, different rules. That rat part was a little amusing, but a complete waste of time. That scene could have been cut with no significant coonsequence. The guy goes into that enlightening machine and he starts talking about high school geometry and biology and its just a given that he has become a genious whatever. Another thing, I dont understand how the "radiation" from that bomb blew up that entire planet. Or how so many humans survived that dome crashing down. But the thiing that really got to me : That main character goes into an aaarmy installation, 1000 years in the future mind you, and finds a perfectly operational flight simulator. He talks to a chief of some cavemen - "Can you train your men to fly these in seven days?" "Its like riding a horse. Piece of cake." whatever. The ONLY thing that interested me afterwards was the striking similarities between this movie and the European invasion of America. but its still a crap movie. I wonder how much people spent to make this? I know I could do better. ------------------ No signature for you!
Surfguy, LOL! ------------------ "One who conquers others is strong; One who conquers himself is mighty" - Lao Tzu
Thanks SurfGuy! I was about to line dc sports up in my sights but you saved me the trouble. ------------------ We need some meat in the post and I don't mean Brian Grant!
