No offense, but this is aggravating that everything is kind of up in the air until the last minute. It's always ASSUMED that we are going to UH again, but we are never 100% until late Sunday or Monday morning.

Also, practicing at UH has been an issue for weeks and is only responded to when its too late to do anything about it.

Not to mention, we still have uniforms to figure out.

Biggie, are we enrolled in the league yet? Just curious.

Again, I apologize if I'm coming off as a nag or ass, but it seems we are more unorganized now than ever before with only a couple of weeks away from our first game.

    ----------------------------------

About uni's, a few weeks back I bought a couple of sleevles t-shirts at Academy for $4 a piece. They also have tank tops for the same price. They are all just one color and are not reversable but maybe, if everyone wants to go this route, we can each get the same color shirt and iron on our numbers, names and/or team name on them.

They have shorts for the same price but they are Stockon-esque in length so that may not be good.

Well I'm gonna assume it's 6:30pm at UH until someone can come up with a better venue. I thought you guys were gonna look for a different location. Until then UH it is right?

League starts on July 25th and we're all signed up and ready to go.

Yeah, trust me it's hard to find something like that. The wellness center on hllcroft and 59 does have a basketball court but not sure if it's the same as UH where you pay to play. Of course it would be a lot closer though.

I never thought about that place. I have an old friend that may work there. I actually haven't talked to him in like 3 years but, the last time I did, he was into sports medicine and had a job there.

I'll look up his number and see if I can get a hold of him to see what is up. He would be someone that could get us in for free regardless of payment, especially since I've known him since preschool.

b/c of recent weather changes, the rain has made outside a bit cooler. it may be possible to actually practice at an outdoor court w/o over-exaustion (suddenly i've forgotten how to spell the word).

That wouldn't be a bad idea. Only problem is everyday now looks like it's going to rain. How about playing outdoors on the UH courts for free? Then if it rains we can run into the gym? I know it's a far drive but at least there is a primary plan and a contingincy (sp) plan as well. Who's the one who can't spell now?

On another note. Right now Mondays for practice are fine but starting july 25th we'll have to designate another day for practice becuase obviously we can't practice on Monday. What day should be be nominating for practice? Saturday seems during the day would probably be best? My guess is not many people are working on weekends right? It'll be light practice at most. and gives us a day in between so we can get some rest but not too much rest where we'll be rusty.

Where are the outdoor courts located? Are they on the campus where the rec center is?

I think I would rather have our practices on maybe Thursday or Friday night during the season. Kind of a middle mark between games. I usually have things planned on the weekends so it would be hard for me to make alot of practices then anyway.

But, I will go along with and try to work around what the majority of the team thinks is best.

Outdoor courts are right down the street from the rec center. Less than 2 blocks away.

Saturday was just my suggestion. I have no idea what everyone's schedule is like so I'm throwing it out there.

Also, any thoughts about what I posted about uniform ideas?

If we go the route of buying cheap shirts and iron-ons, I will volunteer to get everyone's and put all the names and numbers on them. I just need to know ASAP so I can figure what it will cost per uni and get started on them.

i prefer a weekday or late sunday practice. i've got softball league on saturdays.

as for unis, the cheaper the better. iron ons are perfectly fine with me.

I say get the cheapest jersey package. We don't need the shorts. Also I'm not sure they will let us play in t-shirts. If they do then we could do that but a jersey would make it much more breathable for us obviously.

No, these have nice backboards and the court has been renovated from what it was before.

Well, to order from a place that will print on the shirts will probably take too long (seems all of those sites take 5-7 weeks) and we will not have them by game time.

My latest idea is buying either sleevless t-shirts or tank tops at Academy for $4 a piece and then buying iron-on numbers and letters to put our names and numbers on. My VERY rough guesstimation would be a bout $10-$15 per shirt if we go this route.

I'm also going to call a few places around my office to see what they charge to screen print on some shirts.
