Can you name another team that resembled the Rockets with early high expectations, didn't meet them, made some roster changes and later jelled and went on to make a playoff run? I'm trying to keep a positive outlook and am looking for past examples.
thats easy 95 Rockets Heh, thats too easy, but ones that I can think of is Lakers of last year, they didnt have to trade anybody, they just had to get everybody back together on the same page Suns in '97? Where they started 0-9 and still made it to the playoffs. They were able to trade Cassell for Kidd and Horry for Ceballos away and thats sort of made an impact.
good call, totally forgot about that, but then again, they didnt really have high expectations other than getting Spree and getting Camby in midseason.
Last year's Portland Trailblazers. If they were just one or two games better at the time they made their trades they would have been in the playoffs as the 8th seed and possibly did some major damage. The Milwaukee Bucks 2 years ago stunk, traded for Payton and got to the postseason.
2004 NJ Nets. Dumped Scott and got Franck and they won 15 games in row and gave Detroit all they could handle in the playoffs until Kidd went down. Oh wait, we haven't dumped Van Grumpy yet!!
