I need some help here. Does anyone know what the requirements are in baseball for a player to receive one full season of major league service?

Can a player be called up from the minors, play one game, and now be credited with a full year of major league service time? And if not, what is the time limit, game limit, at bat limit, or whatever. I need the answer in relation to the first 5 years baseball salary structure. In other words, players in seasons 1-3 have slotted salaries, player in seasons 4-5 are given arbitration.

    Any help is appreciated.
