I'm watching NBC now and some softball game is going on made up of Major Leaguers. Is this a charity game or something?
The 23rd-annual event will be broadcast by NBC in the spring and benefits the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. That's from the TV guide. I remember it last year, but I didn't know it's been going on for 23 years.
Jennie Finch can play ball USA Olympic pitcher Jennie Finch will be featured Sunday at 1:30 during the All-Star Softball Game on NBC. Finch, the NCAA record-holder of 60 consecutive wins for Arizona, strikes out all six major-leaguers she faces: the Mets' Mike Piazza, the Cardinals' Albert Pujols, the Braves' Marcus Giles, the Padres' Brian Giles and A's Mark Mulder and Tim Hudson. Giles was miked for the event, and can be heard saying "I've never been so nervous in my life" as he steps in to face Finch. After showing how his hand was shaking, he struck out on three pitches.
