"I talked to him about (that) we need to pick up a point guard, and also he had an opportunity out there to go and I think play for Denver," Van Gundy said. So, who's the PG to sign? JL3?
I can't believe any sane team would give up a player out of kindness and subsequently help a rival. That just doesn't happen.
Wow...definitely a shock! I did notice the few times that Barry has been on the court lately that he was moving incredibly slow, which is unbelievable compared to last year. I don't doubt that the shot is still there, but like he said himself, he is a liability on defense.
we need a PG, thats why we traded DA//now we release JB for the same reason???? should have just packaged them and got a decent player in return
what the hell..... this move doens't make any sense...why would Barry go to Denver to play for a playoff team...are the rockets suggesting that they dont believe they can make the playoffs? it almost sounds as like the rockets are giving up on playoffs this year..
Judging from the article JVG really cares for the players, I guess that's why the players speaks so highly of him. I am actually touched by his comments in the article. But I do agree purely from business' point of view, it's not smart to give any help to your rivals. Well, this move is approved by the organiaztion so they must think it won't give Rockets much threat. Good Luck and Take care, JB.
i hope this means we're gonna sign a free agent, possibly...... either that, or we're just STUPID STUPID STUPID!!!!!!!!!!! this is how i feel: mixed emotions: but in the end:
The key lesson from this whole affair is the following: If you play for the Rockets, beware of Van Gundy's buying burgers. PATTIE OF DEATH Hey, Ryan Bowen, you hungry?
He can make it up with his shooting. Come on, Bowen is a liability on both ends. I don't hate Bowen, but come on, this move doesn't make any sense.
On the game last night, Bill said the main difference this year is that the Roxs aren't hitting 3s like they did last year. I don't see how losing Barry helps.
Total confusion, isn't Fitch a PG and wasn't he in street clothes because we didn't have a roster spot. So if we still need a PG where does that leave Fitch?
do the Rockets really have so many good players that they have to waive their only pure shooter to get a space for a point guard?! whatever happened to Luther Head becoming the backup pg? i don't get it at all. Wesley, Alston, Head, and Bogans is already a decent four-guard lineup. and what the hell is Fitch supposed to be for the team? maybe Wesley is more injured than previously thought and Bogans will get the start with Head backing him up. who knows.
