Bonds and Clemens would not be in trouble if they had just come clean. It's not like they were going to take money away from them.
Ive heard a couple responses saying that Bonds is friendly with fans...what? 2 times in my life, when I was 16 and ~18, I ran into Bonds... The first time, I had a baseball in my hand and was walking towards him. He saw me and wagged his finger at me as if that was a no-no. I asked him if he would sign a piece of paper and he said "nope" and went about his business. The second time, I just had a pen and paper...when I wasnt even within 10 feet of him, he told me to stay away and not get close. "Not gonna sign anything".
I can't imagine all the top players from the top teams not using steroids, and I don't see their records being taken away or asterisks assigned to them. In a baseball era of juiced up performance enhancement, Baroid is the King of the Hill.
Yao Ming is supposedly the same way when getting asked for autographs, etc. When I say Bonds is friendly to fans, I mean off the field... like at a grocery store, etc. I've seen him a couple times at a supermarket around Los Altos, and he's always been super cool with the people who approach him... even asking questions about what they do, and getting their names and stuff.
I met him when I worked overhire for ESPN on a Sunday Night baseball game. He was really nice and talked to me for about 15 minutes.
how much money has been wasted trying to nail bonds and, for that matter, clemens? i feel like a lot of these people out there in any type of enforcement would not have jobs if they didn't have somebody to take down. i believe it is a conspiracy to eat tax payer dollars...to pay salaries for people to spend months on BS like this. i'm waiting on one of them to appear at a press conference like when they got saddam hussein and go: "We got him!" bonds is such old news. meanwhile, sherriff john stone is out trying to bust michael phelps for a picture of him doing something with a glass tube.
Maybe he's just sick of people trying to make money by getting him to sign stuff. I wonder what his response would have been if you had wanted to take a picture with him.
