What if he played on the bench next year with Olajuwon?

This would give the rockets great rebounding off the bench. Occasionally, they would give us scoring inside.

Olajuwon, Barkley, Rogers, draft pick, Mobley, and Moochie would be a great bench. I see the rockets drafting a SF.

well, maybe Drexler couldm return too!

Dream starts if he is healthy, since next year will be his "farewell" tour. Cato will get the starters minutes though.

Big Sexy will not return. His body can't take the punishment anymore and he knows it. Besides, he probably can make more $$$ as a sideshow on TNT or NBC.

Clyde would be interesting, but doubtful. Hopefully, he stays invloved with UoH basketball, as much as a non-coach / booster can be.

I don't think he will return.

My quetion was more a can than a will question.

I do think he would still be productive in limited action. My proposal of the bench would allow him to work against less skilled defenders. The same goes for Olajuwon here.

Prior to his injury, CB4 was putting up some big numbers. IF he choose to come back next year, I think it is doubtful that you would see him on the bench at the start or the end of any game, IMHO.

Well, uh... yeah. I mean somebody that's getting paid $46 million on his contract should be starting don'tcha think? If he's a benchwarmer, why the heck pay him that much money?

I never said we should be paying him that much or that he deserves it. I am just saying he is not even close to Hakeem's level and that he should be starting. He is after getting paid 16 million

No way I want Dream to retire after this season. No matter how inefficiently he plays next year, I'll always be happy to welcome him back as our starting center. Not only is he much better than Cato(especially on the defensive end), he deserves to go out as the champion he is. After all he has done for us, he deserves it.

Hasn't Barkley signed a contract with TNT? He is not coming back. He kept coming back one year at a time and it did not pay off. It ended in Philly and he feels that is a good stopping point. Wishful thinking. Besides, the young guys have taken over now.

If Dream can't get over this respiratory problem, he will retire because he won't come back without being able to give his best in my opinion. It has to do with his religious beliefs and giving his all out of obligation. Hope he gets healthy and has an injury free season next year!

Unfortunately, Olajuwon is now a liability for the Rockets, particularly because he clogs up the low post and demands his touches. That only works with a dominant player, which Olajuwon no longer is. Actually, Barkely was much better able to adapt to the Rockets new style, because of his great passing. It's time for Olajuwon to hang it up. He's had his day in the sun, but it's time to give the new generation a chance.
