A couple of years back, Chuck condemned the Spurs for tanking the season to get Duncan and proclaimed that bad things happen to teams that do that sort of thing. True, the Spurs did get a title out of the whole thing but they should have gotten one back in '95 if it weren't for those damn Rockets. So the question is: will Duncan fulfill Barkley's prophecy and head out of town as a free agent, ensuring many a bad season for the nearly over-the-hill Spurs? ------------------ WE WILL WATCH THEM FALL. If the Spurs know what is good for them, they'll do EVERYTHING in their power to keep him there. Personally, I love Duncan. Loyalty scores monster points with me, and I like San Antonio, to. But what about the Rockets? Didn't they tank the '82 season to get Sampson in '83, and then do the same thing in '83 to get Dream in '84? Maybe poor Ralph getting washed up so soon was the "bad thing" that happened to the Rockets, as I've always heard that Houston was supposed to be the next big NBA dynasty after the Lakers ------------------ Proud Cheerleader 'til we move to New Orleans 302
Duncan leaving the Spurs...I WOULD LOVE IT!!! That'll shut up the Slurpsfans around here once and for all! Mwahahahahaha! PS: Lynus is right though. After committing to their new arena, the fans probably would revolt in a major way.
