dad's always asking about bagwell, definitely passing this article along to him.

although i miss bagwell too though, guy was the face of the franchise for more than a decade, damn shame to see bagwell near the end of his career ... :\

Good to hear he is going to stay around the club more the rest of the season.

With all his experience he could probably help some guys out and bring something to the clubhouse when he is around.

i miss bagwell too, but dont you think that at $13 million this year he can afford gas so he can show up at more than just 2 astros games all season long? hate to think that might partly be because his name could be on jason grimsley's list.... just saying

    Totally classless.

I'm sad to see him go out like this. As soon as he makes it official, the Astros need to retire #5. Don't wait 10 years. Do it as soon as possible. No one should ever wear the #5 in Houston again.

Are you calling me classless? I just think he took roids in some point in his career. I loved Bags just like everyone but dont be so naive. I find it ironic that Bagwell told everyone he was taking andro just like Mcgwire and we all found out that was just a cover up. Also, you make it seem like Bagwell was a God. Bagwell was a great player who couldnt get it done in the playoffs when it counted.

Baggy in the dugout on opening day.
    Win.

Baggy in the clubhouse in San Diego.
    Win. Win.

I think it's time Baggy started earning that 17 million.

Excuse me? I remember him getting quite a few important hits in the 04 playoffs.. I also remember him starting a game tying rally with a hit off of Chicago's ****** closer last year in the world series.

2001, 2004 & 2005 posteasons Bagwell batted a combined .311. RBI #'s not the greatest but at least he its a respectable turnaround. He very well could have roided but gimme that guy to plug in there day in and day out on this team when healthy
