Why has the management not made a decision to alleviate our problems at backup point guard ? Toney Douglas is absolutely terrible right now and is shooting only 1-15 so far I believe. We are not going to get a high draft pick this season due to Lin and Harden. If we are to win, why not go all out? I can not understand the logic of why Livingston has not been resigned. A one year contract will not affect our capspace anyways. Furthermore, if we are going to be a decent team down the road we will need a backup point guard. This will be a problem that we will eventually have to solve and I believe all of us have seen (I hope) that Toney Douglas is not the solution here. I can forgive Morey for making the horrendous decision of cutting Livingston, who looked excellent during pre-season, for financial concerns. However, at this point he should have realized the mistake he has made. To not realize this would just be a sign of gross incompetence. What are we waiting on ? Our draft picks are completely crap now and our best future players are likely to just come through free agency. Why not just immediately make the moves to make this team better ?
Toney Douglas is trash and there's really nothing going on in his future anyway. So why not play Scott in the meantime instead. Its not like its that big of a drop off. While Scott is a rookie, he can improve and Douglas isn't going to get any better.
If we didn't cut Livingston, we would not be able to sign a max contract IIRC. Thats the reason. So it is still a logical cut.
