How bout Mitch Richmond. I think he has some gas left in the tank. Give us some quality minutes (8-10 mins/game). I'd rather keep oscar though...

I think the guy can still score. I mean the year before last he had pretty decent numbers if I remember correctly but Phil wouldn't play him because he had no D. The guy is a Rocket killer too. Now that he's got his ring, I'd expect him to sign somewhere where he'll get a good 20 minutes a game.

We don't need another past his prime (Rice) player like Richmond especially if he has no D. Judging from his play in LA it would be for the Rockets to even think about playing him. Richmond like Rice is player i would have wanted 4 or 5 years ago but not now.

well,...i was thinking of someone who could come in and give us 10 mins or so in game without us losing too much offensive production.

    As for we need a all-defense back-up 2 guard,
I figure since Cat is gonna be playing majority of the mins, we should expect Cat to learn how to play defense, and not rely on a defensive specialist at the 2 spot. The back-up 2 should be more of a energizer off the bench in my opinion. Someone who could score some points, definitely someone who's play is stable and consistent. I think that's why a veteran could help. when Cat goes to the bench for a breather, it would be nice not to lose too much offensive production in the process. PLus we'll have Ming and Griff helping out on D.

I haven't given up on Oscar though

we could use some vets on the team.

we have rice to mold the swingmen scorers. we should bring back willis to mold our bigmen. adding richmond or starks can only help mold mobley and os.

With Stevie-Cat-Ming-EG we don't need much more offense. We need defensive spark plugs.
Find a rookie-1st year guy with decent size, who has heart, and is willing to play D. Remember Cat his 1st year, he wasn't asked to score only to play hard defensively and set up the offense.
