I got to go back to school soon, too. (next monday.) I don't really have anything to prove, but if I get a B on my first report card, my dad will be a bit... lets just say he won't be happy. I probably won't get a game for my b-day either, if that did happend. :)

I remember the nights before the first day of school...they sucked.

Unless you're a senior in HS, I feel for you.

    Exactly!

Is it just me, or am I the only one that thought my senior year sucked? It was ok because the fact I got to leave school a class early because I had enough credits, but I thought my junior year was better.

Its weird though, I dont feel the same when going to the first day of class in College as I was back in elementary on to high school. I actually look forward to the first day back of each semester as its a semester closer to getting my degree :D

I wouldn't know since I haven't been in college, but I would assume it would be more fun in college. In school, you have to take classes you don't care for. For me, this includes: any art class, public speaking, and Spanish. In college, I would assume you would be learning about something you like. Though I don't know.

The night before my freshman year felt just like elementary through high school...nervous anticipation and summer regrets...ugh :(

But after that its been like nothing to me. I go to sleep and wake up in the mornings :D No worries.

    I feel for you, man.

My dad would kill me if I stayed up this late 2 days before school. In fact, he wanted me to go to bed at 10 every day this week, even though school doesn't start till Monday, for me. But my mom and I managed to push it to 12:30. (got to watch Conan.) :)

i remember being really excited the night before my first class during the freshman year of college...

everything before college, i just remember depression and dread at another fun summer gone by and a new school year to start...

but i looked forward to the start of every year in college... going back to Austin, seeing my friends, and taking classes i enjoyed.

i move into my dorm the 25th and start classes the 29th. i am SO DAMN NERVOUS its not even funny, but hopefully I do alright. I'm feeling a lot of pressure right now about school...so many people tell you college is easy but it seems like a million other people drop the bottom out of their freshman year of college.

sircharlesfan.... well i'm not expecting college to be easy that's for sure.. i'm gonna do as much studying as I possibly can at least my first semester.. i'd rather find out i studied more than I needed to. instead of not enough

If there's one thing I can tell you about college, its don't be cocky. Don't think just because you made good grades in HS will translate into good grades in college. This is the biggest mistake freshmen make.

Also be yourself. Don't get caught up in the wrong crowd. Don't try to impress people by doing something you know is wrong.

To the people going off to college: I found it better to expect the worst from the academic load rather than assuming it was going to be a cakewalk. Err on the side of caution, if you will....however, that being said, you should enjoy yourself. College can be the best time of your life. A philosopher once opined that 'moderation' was the key. Don't party yourself out of school, but don't negate the social aspects of college life either. Easier said than done, I know...

As for me, I'm starting my last year of law school. I look forward to it because the end is near, but after taking a couple of classes this summer to get ahead (lessens my load in the Spring to start studying for the bar) I could use about two more weeks off for 'mental rehab'.
