Mrs. Valdez bore me a daughter on Monday, December 27th. So, this is my self-gratifying, glory-hogging thread where I humbly accept the congratulations of all my internet friends (and the rest of you). Specs: Name: Lydia Lokyin Gender: Female Born: 12/27/2004 at 2:50 pm Weight: 6 pounds, 14.2 ounces Length: 18 3/4 inches Lokyin, I'm told by Chinese posters here, means Happy Swallow [as in the bird]. It is my mother-in-law's Chinese name. She's not happy that we used it, but oh well. Lydia is in the Book of Acts, a dealer of purple cloth who converts to Christianity. The birth didn't go completely smoothly. The doctors were concerned about symptoms of preeclampsia and administered pitocin to speed the delivery. It ended up progressing faster than they expected and distressed the baby. We tried a regular birth for awhile, but the baby's heart rate kept falling, so they switched horses and performed a c-section. But, Mrs. Valdez is recovering well and the baby is very healthy. We just got back from the hospital yesterday and starting our new life, ruled by an infant. I'd post a pic if I could figure out the hosting. I'd have also posted much sooner, if they only had an internet jack at the hospital. Imagine my surprise when I got home to learn the Rockets bent over for New Orleans. What a god-awful trade.
Congrats JV and Mrs. JV! Glad to hear both Mrs. JV and little JV are doing well after the complications. Hope she has a speedy recovery.
countdown till 12/27/2022 when shes LEAGAL!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA just kidding Congratulations on the baby.
wow, even I wouldn't have gone there. well... nah I wouldn't have. Congrats to you JV and Mrs Valdez for bringing a child into the world.
Oh yeah, by age 6 she'll want to kill the next person who says "This will be your birthday and christmas present from us" My birthday is in June so it's a nice even 6 months between my gifts.
Congratulations! Good choice of names... I like the Biblical character of Lydia. Glad everything turned out OK. (well, except I guess it interrupted the holidays, but you probably expected that) Enjoy teaching her to root for the Rockets and prepare complicated gourmet meals.
Congrats. Our baby was that size and now 5 months later, she's 18 pounds, sitting up, eating solid foods, and almost standing. Enjoy every second because they grow so fast.
Who knew their would be two 9.0 shockers on this board in a month? (check your history) Congrats on the rug rat..
