My wife and I have been arguing over what to name our baby (a boy - due Feb. 15, '06) our last name is Smith so it can't be Steve, Mike, Bill, etc.. We both agree it's got to be diferent (my brother's name was Matt and he was 1 of 3 in our subdivision growing up, and 1 of 2 on our block). My suggestions: Balboa Mobley Barbosa Rocket Stormy Hers: Dawson Conner Tanner Tyler Isaac (Ike) and Ramsey Help!
Go alliteral with Cedric. You don't want to be too original for the kid's sake and surnames as a first name is just as bad. Liam's a pretty good common name and it doesn't seem to be that popular in the US.
I have talked about this with the woman, but she's not a fan of the name Clyde.. so our dog will be named Drex.. At least I get my way some what.. I like Dawson.. Just dont go with them ESPN names.. those are lame..
Out of those, I'd take: 1. Dawson 2. Isaac 3. Ramsey Conner and Tyler seem pretty common at our dayschool. fyI: http://www.ssa.gov/OACT/babynames/ ... and btw, congratulations!
Everyone nowadays tries to create chic, cool names for their children. What's funny is since everyone is doing it, those names are now common as Tom, Bob, and Joe. Don't people realize in 15 years, 1/2 the female population will be named Taylor, Hannah, Ashley, or Emma. For guys, Connor, Taylor (apparently the new bi-name), Ethan and Tyler, will be the next Tom, Dick (not bi), John and Harry.
Great minds... When we were finding the names of our kids, we copied these SSA lists to a spreadsheet and whittled away nightly.
Go with "six smith" though "ill smith" and "siiiiiiiiiicckk smith" are tempting as well. I'd tell you the ideas I have for my eventual kids, but Manny would probly steal them and use them for his litters of b*stard children throughout the country, making the names fairly unhip.
