Yeah I don't know what the problem is... back in 2002 the GARM was really insightful... is it because there are too many members and casual fans are let in now? I also wish it could be like it was before.

I'll read a few threads almost everyday, but I havent posted in the GARM in forever.. I think there are still good nuggets of quality mixed in with the other crap posts, but you really have to dig to find them..

As someone stated earlier, I also think it is a rite of passage. It was the only subforum I'd stay in when I lurked and when I decided to become a member. Besides Hilltoppers interviews and a few of the D-league watch topics it's all the same stuff with bad spelling. Nowadays, I have the hangout forum as my clutchfans bookmark instead of the GARM.

well it looks like there is a pretty good group of us GARM-Avoiders. its a shame too, because i used to love reading good threads there. the other forums (excluding D&D) are more than adequate for me though.

Even the Mavs forum was making fun of the GARM last night. Some of the older members recalled how this place used to be so classy, but lately has turned into a circus

I curbed my GARM attendance the moment the YOF was introduced.

    :D :D :D

I hate to say it b/c there are a few quality YOF's, but for the most part they bring nothing to the table IMHO and they get uber-defensive when you criticize Yao for the smallest things and get uber-offensive when discussing anyone else

I can always tell a YOF when some poster calls Yao "soft" or rags on him for something else, a YOF will respond with some insult that is more funny than insulting - (it must have gotten lost in the translation). As I read that exchange, I think to myself - it must have sounded a lot more insulting in Chinese compared to English

I look for news articles and vids, but sometimes I get fishhooked on the bile.

Add me to the list. It makes it difficult to keep a positive outlook on our team.

I still lurk and post in the GARM occasionally but even though its what got me involved in CF.net I've never been a big GARM denizen. I used to not want to post because it seemed like most posters knew so much more about basketball than me and now its because most posters know so much less...

Oh yeah, before I forget, Tracy is soft, Rafer sux, pass the ball to Yao 400 times a game, Fire GUNDY!, FIRE ADELMAN!, FIRE CLUTCH THE BEAR!

Clutch the Bear is the softest 6'8 footer I've seen in a basketball court.

oh come on, it's not that bad. just use the ignore option and you can eventually narrow it down to the posters you like conversing with (which is, ironically, why only three or four people will see this ;) ).

5 star thread right here. I thought it was just me. I mean it is so stupid how people start a fire ______, trade ______ after every game. Why do people make a rafer thread ever game? Why do we need a thread that says yao is soft every game.

I mean I really liked it better 3 months before the season started. Now the board is flooded with stupid threads.

In offtopic they keep you in a holding tank area where they force you to learn how to post. We need us some quarantine.

I used to lurk the GARM for years before I joined and for some reason after I joined (last year) the quality there just seemed to go down hill. Could I be the problem?
