Hey fellow Austin residents, how about a get together next Wednesday here in Austin?

Show Place Lanes has been recommended by aelliott. How about it - RocketMan95, Major, Drewdog, DaDakota, and others ... let's do this draft up right. It could very well be a draft to remember.

Personally, I'm going to tape the draft at home, so a little ambiant room noise is no big deal to me.

    Who's in?

I'll try to make it! I'll be the old-looking guy that looks a little like a skinny Kelso. :)

So, it will go something like this:

    1) drink a few beers

    2) listen to David Stern announce that we selected Ming (big suprise there)

    3) drink a couple more beers

    4) fall asleep after the 5th pick or so

    5) wake up to the reaction of the 15th pick

    6) Look around in a drunken stupor..."wha? what happened? Oh, we selected him at 15? Uhhh...sure..."

    7) get a huge bruise on your forehead after it slams down on the bar when you fall asleep again

    8) wake up just in time for the Rockets 2nd round pick, then realize somebody changed the channel to a Miami Vice rerun.

    9) Order another beer. Then, yell..."Hey, I've seen this one! This is about drug smugglers!". When you realize that EVERY episode of Miami Vice is about drug smugglers, you finish your beer and decide that it's time to go home.

    10) Reach into your back pocket and find out sombody jacked your wallet when you were asleep...

GATER, this has already been proposed quite a few other times by you, me and RM95(just yesterday, check it out . There is enough clutter in this forum with all of the regurgitated Yao and Odom threads, so why start another thread????

Help keep the BBS a clean place.

    ;)

RocketsPimp, your right. However, with all the "clutter" coming into the BBS, some good stuff is being bumped off the front page. Some of us (like myself!) are too lazy to go back a page or two to see what we missed from being gone for a while. I've never started a thread myself, but I might someday. I hope everyone doesn't suffer too much if I do! :p

First, I have never posted an Austin draft party other than this.

Second, if the "new posting" arrow isn't displayed, I'm expected to go through 4 pages of "KG for KT" and "Yao will never make it because he had a hangnail in 4th grade" posts to verify this hasn't been discussed?

If you are this anal, do us a favor and watch it alone in your room. :p

My bad, that was the game 4 thread I was thinking about.

I'm not meaning to get on your case man, the point was that RM95 posted his thread just yesterday(so it wouldn't have been difficult to find). I'm not the only "anal" person on the board that feels this way--->see for yourself. :p

Anyway, what is Showplace like? Is it a loud noisy place where we won't catch any of the interviews?

Let's just say that catching the interviews WILL NOT be a big priority if you guys catch the draft at SHOWPLACE! Hell, I might even drive up for that if you guys hold it there!:D

Showplace is a smokey dive with the worst, most uncomfortable chairs in the world. RM95 offered his humble abode for viewing the draft. That way we save $$$$ on beer.

I think you are referring to the butt nekkid club, Show Palace.

I seriously doubt you'll be checking out anything but the draft at Showplace, unless you have a fat drunk bowler fetish.

    ;)

I'm open to whatever the majority wants, if it's RM95's place, though, the underwear's gotta go! Hope I can get away from the wife, kids etc. (love you, sweetie ;)). :)

How about a sports bar or a pub? I'm down with whatever I suppose. I can't wait to see the start of the Ming Dynasty. So is Showplace Lane official?

Ok, so where's it going to be?

How many people can RocketMan95 accomodate/tolerate? Wouldn't it be easier to go someplace where we can order food and drinks?

I'm not from Austin, so I don't know many places here. BW3 was too noisy and crowded and Aussie's is pretty small. I just threw Show Place out there since it had big screens and I figured that it would be easy to get them to turn on the audio. If somebody knows of a better place, I'm game.
