Very average appearance...as compared to the aggregate of the three Houston tour stops. Rome was right on cue with rehashing just about everything he's already said on the radio. The only interesting thing was when drunk Longhorn fan almost threw down with OU and Aggie fan a few rows in front of us.

Overall, Dell Diamond was a great stadium. The tailgating was nice. The 2pm start was not nice. The vivid description of Nolan Ryan beating down Robin Ventura was also nice. It was not the mother of all...but there was a rowdy crowd and Rome had plenty of energy. First tour stop at SRO in Houston was definitely better. Otis does not look like he sounds.

    Three out of five stars.

Even though they won't be considered "tour stops", Htown will get 2 visits from Rome next year. He always shows up for the Super Bowl and MLB all-star game.

How old is Rome and at what age does wearing a cap backward stop being cool?

This was my first tour stop and I must say it was pretty badass. Sure Rome rehashed a bunch of stuff but who cares, the guy is funny as hell and I love hearing him dog the **** out of A&M.

"If I want to see XXX p*rn, I wont throw on Jenna Jameson, I will watch a Texas A&M football game."

Just an average tour stop? Puh-leeze.

I had a great time at the Tour Stop. I didn't think it was an average appearance. Romes takes on the Aggies and Sooners were hilarious. and for me personally, it was the first time i've heard Jim talk about those two rivalries.

Oh, and this was a beauty, Rome said something like, "I wonder if Robin Ventura has apologized to Nolan Ryan for bruising Nolan's fist with his face."

Donny, you may find this hard to believe, but over 20,000 have showed up to "this thing" before.

I listen to Jim Rome sometimes when I'm bored at work.

I can't believe people worship him at the level they do.

Must be because he caters to what they want to hear.

well, I dont think people worship him....there are a select few that do. And, actually, I only listen to him, I would say, about 2-3 hours a week combined.

I think his interviews are the worst part of the show. They are boring unless he interviews someone like Mark Grace, Hudler, Elkington and a few others.

When he says, "more of me and less of you is a good thing", that really is true because the callers suck most of the time, which means the best part of the program is when he brings out this takes, thus igniting the flurry of "quick hit"e-mails, which are also funny.

Plus his show is unigue in that he will bring up subjects that are not sports related, like for example, that Malaysian guy who fried and ate his schlong a few months ago.

Back in the day I was actually "racked" a time or two. I received a box of MetRx once for having a huge call. Ahh, my :15 seconds.

How many people were at the Houston tour stop in 2000?

    ABout 25,000?

wasn't that the largest turnout for a tour stop?
