Apparently our neighborhood has an increase of break-ins and we've considered getting a home security system anyway, so I was hoping that some of my fellow Austin clutchfans might have some experience of home security systems in the area. The previous owners had ADT, but I don't really know what other options there are around here. Any help would be appreciated!
I've heard a lot of people have good experience with Sloan Security in Buda. I'm thinking of trying them out myself. Which neighborhood?
I started looking into this a few months ago and I heard Crenshaw was good and cheaper. Let us know what you do. I ended up just sticking an ADT sign in my front yard that I got from a friend. My house is wired, I just hate using those things. I'm hoping the sign and a big dog is a good enough deterrent.
I'll check those out. I'm in north Austin in Milwood near Duval and Mopac. We have an ADT sign out front, but we'd like to do as much as we can. I'll let you know what we decide.
ADT has been pretty good for us. No problems at all. Don't forget that you'll get a discount on your homeowner's insurance.
In that case you need a high quality lock for your main and back door, you must have to visit at this company that it will give you the lock for your door as your security. mesa locksmith
I went with Sloan Security. Prices for the install are listed on the web site, and there were no surprise fees. The installer was very professional. As far as cost, I paid extra for the installation of the cellular uplink, so monthly fees are $20. Otherwise it would be $10/month with Vonage or a landline. However, the cellular device allowed me to drop my landline ($20/month) and my home insurance also dropped about $10/month so I am actually saving money on monthly bills after having the alarm installed.
We have them at our office. We've been in this office for a little over 2 years. The security system they put in has not worked...even for one day. Then, to get someone out could take days or weeks. Hope you have better luck with them than we have.
Interesting. I was referred to Sloan by my realtor and by the gym I train at. Both were happy with Sloan, and an installer came out a couple days later. No problems in the 3 weeks that I've had them.
I have a friend that has a home security business in Austin. Email me and I'll shoot you over his contact info.
