So in other words, you don't need peer pressure to have crappy taste in music. Bravo. BTW, I find the argument that Zach de la Rocha is 'more emotional' than Chris Cornell to be laughable. Anger is not the only emotion (although it seems like it may be the only emotion for de la Rocha), nor does screaming really mean that the person is emotional. I think Cornell is far better at conveying a broader range of emotions (in particular, melancholy). Then again, I think his voice is a shadow of what it used to be (check out Soundgarden's Ultramega OK for some truly amazing singing).
RATM, and it's not even close. Cornell has a great "rock" voice, but Audioslave is too controlled. Too formulaic and bland. Rage had a raw, powerful sound with jagged lyrics. But that's just preference.
Thanks for the spell check, you know everyone in here never screws up on the spelling, anyways, i just typed jimi hendrix on kazaa and got like 100 results, before i would spell it all wrong and would get like 10 results, thanks.
choosing from audioslave, rage and soundgarden I pick the last one. BUT, has anyone of you guys ever heard the ep from the band called: INSIDE OUT This was a hardcoreband with Zack on the mic. Damn, thats an excellent piece of vinyl. They got a 7" record out on Revelation Records back in the days. And I tell you. RATM sounds like kiddy kiddy stuff to that. Not in terms of heavyness but in terms of fury, anger and drive. Unfortunately very rare to find. I once had it twice but traded one of it for some other gem.
Was just watching a RATM video of their live Rock the Bells 2007 show. Holy S**T.....what energy and pure power. Would love to see them if they come thru H-town
that's the whole point, giving up everything you have, for the things you believe in giving back to the people.... supporting the zapatista movement. rage all the way.
audioslave my all time fav but since chris cornell is losin his voice gotta go with rage now and hope they do swing by htown
No contest... If Zach had a do over 5 years ago. I wouldn't even blink about losing Audioslave. Think of the anger directed at the Bush era while it happened....
