That's my list as well. Not much of a fan of the old RATM. BIG fan of Cornell's voice and thus love Soundgarden and AudioSlave!

I never could get into rage against the machine; meanwhile, I have 2 soundgarden CDs.

Chris Cornell has one of best rock singing voices there is, IMO.

So, I chose Audioslave, but they along with RATM and Soundgarden are all great bands.

I love RAGE too but I can't scream/sing that as well as Audioslave, and everyone on that CD is badass. I can't wait for the next one.

Zack De La Rocha kills Chris Cornel when it comes to lyrics and voice, which in the end is all that really matters. There is more feeling in Rocha's lyrics, when he's mad, you're mad. When he's raging, your're raging. I can't wait to hear Rocha's solo album. I've heard that one song, "March of Death," that he did about the War on Iraq. You can find it on the internet if you look hard enough.

Rage is and will always be greater than Audioslave.

Some might say that being able to sing is what really matters...

Also, what is he so mad about? He went to Harvard, right?

I love Chris Cornell's voice, so naturally I knew I'd like Audioslave. I also love Rage's sound which makes Audioslave even better. All 3 are in my list of favorite bands, but if I had to rank them it'd be...

    Soundgarden
    Rage Against The Machine
    Audioslave

I also have always liked chris' voice and can appreciate some aspects of Audioslave. But can not get over the blandness of the band and some of the really really stupid lyrics. How does that one song go,? you gave me this life now tell me how to live it. Give me a freaking break, sounds like a depressed 12 year old or something.

And i really respect rage's innovation and creativity especially on there first album. Which was made i think in 91 there was nothing like it around that time. Versus Audioslave there are a lot of bands in the last 10 years or so that sound like that.

Both are good, but Audioslave is too mainstream, were as Rage was a little bit on the outside of mainstream music.

I've never understood how that could affect how you like the music?

Rage. Every day and twice on Sundays. No contest. I'll take Zach De La Rocha's fury and energy easily over Cornell's melodic but not nearly as passionate voice.

People demand more from the band making them get out of their original musical idea.

I've been listening to them for a little over 5 years, way before they became popular with the "cool kids".
