How do you define ATHLETIC I have a friend. . . He is very fit Wieght lifter the whole nine but I am more athletic [fluid motion, biody control etc] He is kind of ridged I think of Cato as somewhat Athletic While Mutombo maybe fit. Same with Shawn Bradley and Yao Yao is athletic . . .shawn is tall So Is this guy we drafted ATHLETIC or just very FIT Rocket River
There are 2 types of athletic: 1. Fast, strong, good ups. I think of guys like Kelvin Cato, maybe Harold Minor. 2. A second type includes stuff like coordination, footwork, ability to do moves, good hands, good vision, etc. Guys like Larry Bird or Tim Duncan or even Jason Kidd who aren't considering athletic in the traditional sense have an excess of this stuff. I think Badiane is a lot of the first type, and I don't know if he has any of the 2nd type.
I played pick up ball with some of the UT football players last summer. One of them was about 6'3 and 240-250 pounds and kinda had little gut. He were just screwing around, playing no defense, and stayed on the prerimeter. He then decided to show off a little bit, so in slow machine he drove baseline and reversed dunked it on two kids. He was just fooling around like Shaq did during all-star when he tried to do some fancy dribbling. It was effortless. At the time he was not in shape at all because summer training hadn't started, but there was no denying his athletism. I think fitness has to do more with endurance and athletism has to do more with speed and power.
LA, I am really impressed by your optimistic outlook. I don't know, so I'll compare him to one of the all time greats. I like it.
I beleive Mr. Fadeaway is making reference to the other hundreds of posters who have compared him to the Dream, not that La was making the comparison himself. j
Aww this is a simple question. Athletic talent is best represented by examples. KG = athletic talent After he is done playing basketball the history museum should pretrify him and call him Homo dinosaurous Larry Bird = skilled player
How about few more: Skilled & Athletic: Hakeem Olajuwan Michael Jordan Kobe Bryant Athletic: Vince Carter Skilled Player: Tim Duncan
This is a kinda weird question. Hmm, where would you put Amare Soudamire? This would better tell me where Badiane fits.
Fantastic athlete who is very hungry. I had no doubt he was gonna be awesome. His skills will improve. He seems like a guy who realizes what he's been given, wants to be successful and famous as well.
Maybe this belongs in the DISH because I'm talking in the generic sense I think Basketball Players are more ATHLETIC than say Weight Lifters Both can be INCREDIBLY FIT but Weight Lifters do not seem all that Athletic Sort of like Runners [Track and Field] Rocket River
