Wooo hoo. Wheeler has been a steal thus far. And to think we really discovered him by accident late last year when none of our specialists could get an out. At least this year we know we have rely on Qualls, Wheeler, and Lidge. No guessing in the playoffs. .

I still remember first seeing him with the Mets last year... he closed out the game for N.Y. that Octavio BLOW-tel blew when he gave up Piazza's 2 run HR in the 9th. That would have been a Clemens win, so I was pretty pissed.

Anyways, Wheeler impressed me when he shut down the 'Stros, and when we got him for Doggy (despite the "easily correctable flaw in his swing" myth)... I was pretty satisfied.

wow, what a poor slide by lane.. fundamentals! I like the guy, but you gotta get your feet into the bag on that--he woulda been safe easily if he didn't wait until his back hand to actually tag the base

yeah i'm not exactly sure what lane was going for there. breaking up the DP or something? which is stupid when someone's trying to sacrifice you.

Remember what happened when Lidge faced the bottom of the Cubs order the other night? It was the bottom of the order right?

I do predict that Neifi will find a way to slap another hit in the 9th. He's in the zone.
