Ok, this game SHOULD be in hand. However we cannot chalk this one up until we get 3 more outs. We can do that.

Great job cox - you have Franco a 0.667 hitter against Gallo on the bench and available but you choose Jordan.

    Nice. :)

His ERA is not the problem and it is actually deceiving. He usually comes in with men on base and has given up a lot of runs from runners already on base which does not count against him.

Plus he usually comes in with 1 or 2 outs so its tougher to rally an ER against him with less than 3 outs to do it.

That's the story of every middle reliever... even Lidge lets in runs that aren't his when he comes in with men on base.

yeah, and I also read all of the brilliant ideas by the brilliant baseball minds here... like benching Biggio for Burke. An ERA of 2.66 is an ERA of 2.66.

No no no ... Gallo rarely IF EVER comes in to start an inning. He is always a situational guy.

Springer, Wheeler, Qualls all come in to start innings which is an entirely different thing for your ERA

Most situational guys have HIGHER ERAs because they come in when the crap has already hit the fan... so a 2.66 ERA for a situational guys is fantastic.
