We just got hit by the flew up in the NE. I noticed Derek Jeter was coughing tonight too. It's going around. This flu is tuff too. It can knock you out for like 3 days just with the sinus alone.

Yeah, but if you catch it early [like within 24 hrs], then you can get on anti-virals and avoid the symptoms while your body is building immunity.

If Petite got sick today, then I bet he has already been put on anti-virals and the Astros are just being cautious about not getting everyone else in the club house sick.

[note anti-virals are not the same thing as a flu vaccine, and the cost is like 5x higher].

Man I am still on a high from that game and can't stop watching replays of the game, sportscenter highlights, and so forth. Riding highs like today make the heartbreaking losses of the past well worth it!!

    GO STROS!!!!!!

man if we had lost today and clinched tomorrow we'd probably have to go to st. louis limping.

as is we pretty much have our rotation set perfectly, provided andy is ok for wednesday. he gets 2 days of extra rest, roy gets the standard 4 days and rocket gets his 4 days. lidge and wheeler who, outside of the rocket, probably extended themselves the most today(looking at pitch count), will get 2 whole days of rest and be fresh for game 1.

just looking at our pitching staff is amazing, i think we'll be better prepared then last season.

The two time slots on Wednesday are 3 CST and 7 CST and it's currently listed as TBD. I think the TBD designation is because they don't know the winner of the Yanks/Angels series yet. I'm guessing we play at 3 CST if the Yankees win, and 7 CST if the Yankees lose.

When I look at the listings on my Digital cable it shows one game starting at 8PM EST on FOX and the other game starting at the same time, but being shown on FX.

That is strange, but I remember thinking exactly that, those two shots were pretty close to each other. I just couldn't tell who caught it. When the bat went into the stands during the Yankee game that was awesome two. Those two women just ducked and some guy nabbed it.

Did we play any NLCS games during the day last year (besides weekends)? It seems like all non-weekend games were played at night.

That doesn't change the fact that he didn't play SS yesterday. :)

On the TV schedule, I'm pretty sure last year they played on game on Fox and one game on FX. The local markets all had the game on Fox while those wanting to watch the other game could catch it on FX.

    yeah yeah yeah

shame on me for doubting when we failed to score inning after inning after inning lol

and I'm pretty sure I wasn't the only one that was extremely pissed off and extremely frustrated.

granted I regret obviously regretting then lol

but at the time, I wouldn't back down from it if I could do it again.

maybe if we showed some life lol, but it was a wasteland out there in terms of stringing any hits together while our pitchers were throwing up zero's inning after innings

Game 6 started at 3pm, on a Wednesday last year.

I'm still speechless about the game... that, and the fact I was in Dallas for Texas-OU are the main reasons I haven't posted anything in awhile. It seems like half the bbs were jumping on and off the bandwagon during yesterday's game in the span of the last 7-8 innings.

All that needs to be said is epic... classic... this is why baseball is the best playoff sport out there... and I can't believe that HOUSTON gets a chance to be remembered POSITIVELY in the history of all-time great games.

but saying they don't DESERVE to win?? did the Braves?? at that time, they were doing the same exact thing...and they had just coughed up a 6-1 lead. when you make up 5 runs in the 8th and 9th..and you head to extra innings and get the kind of pitching performance the Astros got from their bullpen (including the Rocket)...you deserve to win whenever you scratch out a run...however long it takes.
