You're right. The Cards are going to be really tough. A lot of breaks are gonna have to go our way for us to win that series. They really look solid right now. But hey, at least we've got a chance at them. You never know with this Astros bunch, they have been surprising me all year long.
pretty sure garner was just full of **** when he was talking about that "contingency plan" lol or I dunno, maybe bagwell throws a wicked slider
Suprise pitcher would have been probley Jason Lane. He pitched in college and was a better pitcher than hitter at USC. Chavez gots good hands and thats why he was SS in his younger days, same with Julio Franco.
I formed an opinion based on what I've seen by him. There is no harm in that. People do that to Steve Francis, Michael Jordan, John Kerry, Britney Spears, and other people in the public eye. I mentioned a number of incidents that lead me to my opinion. I mentioned both good and bad things by Roger, so I don't think I'm being closed minded in my opinion and if I knew him personally I would probably have a different opinion. But that doesn't matter. As for an athlete's performance on the field I will judge it by their performance on the field. Someone can be a good player, but not be somebody I like. Someone can be a lousy player but if they seem funny, friendly, and like they have integrity I will like them despite their lack of playing ability. It doesn't harm me, them, or I wouldn't think you. You form your opinions however you like, and I won't say a word against it. I'll form my opinions the way I like, and you get worried about if want, or not worry about it at all. It is up to you.
More surprises from the Astros. In this four game series they scored 25 runs...that is 6.25 runs a game.... When they went on that magical run in June and July...they were scoring runs.....let's hope that continues until November.. DD
Simply an incredible game. I remember after the Stros stranded Biggio in the 16th I was so pissed and figured that the Stros were going to lose. It just seemed to much like the Stros of old playing with a ton of heart and then just coming up short. The biggest feeling that I had when Burke hit that homerun was RELIEF!
I agree they're tough, but let's not base it on their series with San Diego. Our beating the Braves in 4 games is much more impressive than knocking off a team that should not have even been in the playoffs.
Question #1 Does anyone know if the game will be replayed in it's ENTIRITY, at least the last 7 innings of the game. Question #2 If the answer to #1 is no...then Does ANYONE have... 1. A DVR with the Game 4 on it (innings 12-18) 2. A Video Capture Card 3. Around 80 gigs of HD space 4. Willing to record innings 12-18. 5. Willing to let me come and copy the 60+ gig file on to my HD, or some way to transfer the 80 gigs to one of my HDs. I'd greatly appreciate any help at all. Edit: Well, 80 gigs for uncompressed AVI. If your computer can handle encoding on the fly, that'd work too. Preferably XviD, I can give the settingsI normally use. Anyone? Email me at migbackup@gmail.com
fully agree all the cardinals had was batting practice for 3 games we'll see how they fare against a staff with clemens, oswalt, and pettitte not to mention a team that proved they belonged in the playoffs, PERIOD.
Anyone think that we should put Taveras back at leadoff and Biggio batting 2nd? I was thinking that maybe Taveras would get back a little bit of confidence- you know "I'm the no. 1 hitter again"- and it would spark him to do better. Plus, having Biggio and Berkman back-to-back seems like a good idea. I understand why Garner did this at first, but maybe they should try this again??
I like our chances against any team when you we have those three guys pitching in 6 out of 7 games. Astros will win in 6.
yeah I dunno I'd rather just have taveras get on base or out, and get it over with for the big hitters in the lineup lol instead of him coming up with runners on and "trying" to drive them in
I felt the same way after the 16th. I wasn't giving up hope, but I thought that we just wouldn't get a chance like that again, especially with fatigue setting in.
