Terms of the deal were not released. Vizcaino, 32, started last season with the Dodgers, then was traded to the New York Yankees in June. For the season, he batted .251 with 14 RBI. He also had the game-winning hit in the 12th inning of Game 1 of the World Series for the Yankees. "Jose gives us a solid veteran player to stabilize the middle of our infield," Astros General Manager Gerry Hunsicker said. Vizcaino has played 12 years in the majors for Los Angeles, the Cubs, Mets, Indians, Giants and Yankees. He has a lifetime batting average of .269 and a career fielding percentage of .977. ------------------ President of the Jason Collier fan club! Looking for next year's Jason Collier or Dan Langhi? Excellent pickup. Now if we can get Hampton or Millwood, Bagwell will finish his career in Houston. ------------------ In order to be a success in life, you need 2 things: 1. Don't tell everything you know.
Really nice pickup!I was surprised when I 1st heard earlier today on espn news. He will start at shortstop right and isnt he usually a second basemen? ------------------
Bogar is a free agent and there was no way in hell the Astros were going to sign him. ------------------ Only in America....do people order double cheeseburgers, large fries, and a diet coke.
Great pickup. Astros Gm already said today that they wont go after Tim. Vizcaino can play 3rd, shortstop, or 2nd. ------------------ Vice President of the Jason Collier fan club!
