Shut the hell up Major. I just said at the time Springer was throwing the ball well. If he throwing bad, take him out. Why you trying to start things man? You have no life, what you look at all my comments to see what I say?

You b****ed about Springer yesterday, and yet he threw to 4 batters and struck all of them out. Perhaps if you would stop your bizarre second guessing, I would stop pointing them out.

That was before he struck does guys out. How do you consider Springer and his 6.18 ERA quality. The Twins, Cards, Angles, White Sox, Nationals, A's, and Indians have at least 4 quality relievers.

Qualls hasen't been very impressive so far, but at least his ERA is under 5. When only 3 players in your bullpen have an ERA under 6, then I think there is a lot to be desired in your bullpen. Qualls is also only 26 right now, so he has a future, but Springer is 36 and at the end of his career. Springer only pitched 13.2 innings last year, not nearly enough to qualify his ERA.

But Qualls has been quite impressive, as have Springer and Lidge. ALL of them had a sucky May which drags all of their ERA's up. Springer's May was worse than Qualls (ERA of 9 in May) and Lidge (ERA around 5 in May). None of them were impressive if you look at their May numbers, but if you take them out, all 3 in their Astros careers (last year and this) have have an ERA in the 2's. That's plenty good for a bullpen, especially when you add Wheeler in.

Qualls was consistently sucky in May, giving up runs in almost every other outing. Springer's ERA was substantially higher, but he just had a few spectacular meltdowns (4 runs in 3 different outings, 2 of those being blowouts anyway) but was perfect in his six others. So Springer's numbers look worse, but he was probably more reliable in May.

It would be nice to have a Wagner/Lidge/Dotel combo, but Lidge/Wheeler/Springer/Qualls is pretty good in today's MLB.

When you are a reliever, you can not afford to have an entirely bad months and only back that up with 2 good months. I am not saying we have the worst bullpen in the league. In fact we have a middle of the road bullpen, but if we want to be a playoff team then we need another good arm. We could also use a lefty. We don't have a great offense and we need to be able to shorten the game.

What does that have to do with Astros @ Reds?

Too bad he didn't make the all-star team. Bunch of player haters around the league and in St. Louis.

This team rreally has turned it around. I haven't been able to keep up with them, because I'm stuck in SugarLand with no cable, and no rabit ears for the tv.

Also, I don't really have an internet connection. My buddy brought his laptop and I am using it right now, stealing a neighbors internet connection via wireless.

anyways, I'm headed to the game tomorow. ANyone else going to be out there? Should be fun, I've never been to a day game.

Have fun. Day games during the weekday is my favorite time to catch a ballgame. I loved it even more when Minute Maid opened but I think that has to do with Ferris Bueller.

THanks. I'm sure it's going to be a lot of fun. I've gotta race back home though as soon as the game ends. We are BBQing tomorow too.

Now that you say that, that's not a bad idea. Maybe I'll catch a game tomorrow. I haven't been able to go to but a few games this year, due to actually having a job *up until a month ago*

Then I was too broke to go. :p
