Today will be an interesting day. We could be anywhere between 5 and 8 games out in about 8 hours.

And potentially just 4 in the loss column with Atlanta already having lost.

Yes as of right now we are 4 games out in the loss column which is absolutely amazing to me. Today is a very dangerous day with Wandy and Zeke going, but it could be huge if we could pull out a couple wins

WTF, the Astros game is not coming on tv for dish network. Its some hockey stuff coming. The game is supposed to be on the alternate channell but it starts at 4 when the game really starts at 3. Guess I have to miss the first hour.

Base hit Ensberg, but Lamb thrown out at home. I think the Reds caught a break. The throw beat Lamb but the replay sure looked like his foot got in there on the bag before the tag.

Any time there's a close play involving a tag, the defensive team always gets the benefit of the doubt. It's incredibly frustrating when you're a running team like the Astros, but they're consistent with it.

After seeing it a second time, I don't think there's much doubt that Lamb got underneath Larue before the tag. But, it was close, and in situations where it's close, the defense will get the break almost every single time.

And now the Reds re-take the lead... ugh.

Can somebody explain Garner's rationale here in keeping Burns out there?

This seems very very very stupid.

That's almost as bad as the whole "CHOKE CITY" thing with the Rockets.

Hmm...maybe the Chronicle should keep doing this, it might be some kind of bizzare good luck charm.

    Huh?

End of the 8th and he has held them scoreless.

Is that David Weathers? Oh man...here we go...BP time.

Lidge is unavailable and they still want their other arms available for the second game. It paid off that inning.

Double headers have to be hell on managers. I understand why he left Burns out there - it's nice that Qualls can (hopefully) be saved for a couple of innings in game two. But if that gamble fails with a rested Wheeler and Qualls (and maybe even Lidge?) in the pen, he's going to get all sorts of heat. These situations are why restarts like the one the other night are so stupid when they can be avoided...

The Radio says that he is unavailable right now. He reaggrevated his injury. They even talked about the possibility of him going on the DL after this game to make room for Zeke, but they probably will send someone else down.

Wheeler is in to close. 1 Down. 2 Down.

If Lidge goes on DL, it'll be retoractive to his last outing and Astacio will probably help out in pen.

Alright Wheeler. Astros take game one 4-3. Berkman will play game 2 and Biggio will sit out game 2. I would expect Burns, Rodriguez, or Lidge moved from the active roster for game 2 to make room for Zeke.
