This is going to be a great series...We need to win, so I'd say 3 of 4, although, it wouldn't be out of the question to go 2-2... They won't be shown in Dallas on KFWD... Go Stros!!!
so did we lose the Marlins series? if so, how many lost series is that in the last 4 or so? We seemed to have hit a wall around the time I was leaving the US. Oh well. Let's go Stros!!!! We usually fare well against the Reds IIRC.
C'mon buddy... I know you're out of the country and all, but you gotta know (based on how much you posted here) that we won the first two games, and thus, the series. And, as mentioned before, the Astros looked quite good after you left... but they just ran into a team looking to break out of a big slump last night. (the Marlins had lost 4 of 5 before Thursday). We had won 4 series in a row, lost the two last week, and now we're ready to start a new streak against the mighty Todd Van Poppel-led Reds.
I know we were hot and won a number of series in a row. I watched every game that was televised. But being out of town with out broad band (damn i am spoiled), I don't check Astros.com much. i don't know. For some reason it felt like we lost 3 or so series in a row. my bad. Seriously, I don't know what's wrong with me. I forgot about the first win. So much going on here. Also, I was pissed when I wrote that. Mainly because I looked through the ESPN schedule for Orbit ESPN and they are playing 3 Cubs games in the next 2 weeks, and not a single Stros game! **** the Cubies!!
Hidalgo is 5-43. OUCH. Gotta get him going. Todd Van Poppel apparently has turned it around this year. Didnt we use to hammer this guy?
why take out Andy P? his pitch count wasn't astronomically high, why not see if he could go another inning? Plus the pitcher's spot is coming up in the next inning, so he could have pinch hit for him! urgh. Men on 2nd and 3rd, 1 out. Good job Jimy and Brandon! I can't watch.
Can we just summarily execute Jimy Williams? He's truly the most backwards, tradition-bound idiot to ever walk. I'm surprised he doesn't slaver all over himself. There are two men on. You have one of the top 2-3 strikeout relief pitchers in the game (hell, maybe 2 of the top 5). Go with one of them? Of course not. Hey, (you can't use that word here)... it's not the # of the inning that matters... it's the relative importance of the out. Lidge was the obvious choice with runners on 3rd and 2nd with 1 out. Jimy "I manage with my gut and single brain cell" Williams, of course, went with the wrong guy. The sooner all the managers are dead and buried who "save" their set-up men and closers for appropriate #'d innings... the better.
