Again, I didn't get to watch the game, but from the radio, he was getting a head of the batter (at least the first 2) Kearns singled Wasn't gonna give Phillips anything to hit, especially after the stolen base (which it seems Ausmus thought was strike 3) As far as the hanging slider on the final K, I'll check that out tonight and see how it went. Hopefully Lidge is turning back into his old self. I just traded Abreu/Street for Lidge/Berkman/Barmes in my fantasy league.
That is robbery at its finest! You should be prosecuted. Nice deal...I can't believe someone traded Lance. The only thing you might lose is some steals, but I think Abreu is probably only good for 15-20 anyway.
Funny thing is, I originally only offered Brian Fuentes/Abreu for Berkman/Lidge. He stepped in and swapped Street for Fuentes, and threw in Barmes (I dropped Willy who was rotting away on my bench with 1 stolen base). Barmes will likely replace Counsell once he comes back down to earth, and Berkman will just take over at 1st base, moving Vlad out of my Util spot into Abreu's RF spot, and Ryan Howard moves from 1B to Utility. My team has little to no starting pitching, but I hope to rectify that by trading away some of my closers. C - Barrett | 1B - Berkman | 2B - Soriano | 3B - Blalock | SS - Counsell/Barmes | LF - C. Lee | CF - J.D. Drew | RF - V. Guererro | Util - Ryan Howard I'm trying to get Pettitte/Chone Figgins off of someone in the league, but that's not going too well. I want figgins so I can play him at multiple spots incase anyone has an off day or is struggling, since he plays basically everywhere on the field. Now, my pitching... My ACE -...Taylor Buchholz Jon Garland, Huston Street (traded for Lidge), Eddie Guardado, Brian Fuentes, Danys Baez, Chris Ray, Bob Wickman, Brad Radke (dropped for Justin Verlander), Dan Wheeler, Woody Williams, Otsuka, Noah Lowry (DL), Kerry Wood (DL) I'm hoping to trade Vlad + one of my closers for a good starting pitcher and a replacement OF to take Vlad's spot.
It was a dissapointing series but then again its nice to lose your first series a MONTH into the season. And the games are fun to watch. Even when we're losing, bc it seems like we've got more threats at any AB. Still, get back Roger or else.
Well, I'm not that upset that we lost our first series. I mean, we had a hell of a month. Even ESPN had a 5-10 min segment strictly on the Astros and their hot start. It talked about Roger Clemens too.
One reason among many I don't play fantasy baseball is I'd have a hard time rooting for (and being objective about) ********s like these guys. Your lineup is freakin' stacked.
You usually don't have to worry about Drew and Wood...it's getting pretty close to time for them to call it a season and relax on the DL.
