Perez is owning us, struck out Beltran twice, this is not looking good.....I don't want the streak to end! :(

Beltran is in there... Perez is throwing an absolute gem.

But, if that's what it takes to end this winning streak, so be it... I'd rather take that, than having the bullpen blow a late lead, or having a starting pitcher get torched.

I had a gut feeling we would struggle to score today. All our runs came in the 1st yesterday. It doesn't look like we're gonna hit as long as Perez is in. Still holding out hope

It might be a long weekend. Astros never play well in Pittsburgh.

Perez is having a hell of a game. It's been a while since the Astros bats were silent.

They never play badly either... most seasons, they win more there than they lose.

And look at the effort it took for it to happen... this is the best game pitched against the Astros in the last 3 years.

In 2001, Jamey Wright has a gem going against them in Milwaukee, but Vinny Castilla homered late in a game that seemed hopeless. (Wright had 11 or 12 K's as well).

Hopefully that can happen tonight as well... but the Astros have nothing to be ashamed about. This kid brought his best stuff tonight. (and, its not a 1 fluke wonder... Perez has done this to several teams this year).

EDIT: Rob Mackowiak just cost him the shutout... sweet.

have to tip your hat to perez today

we simply were stopped by a pitcher on his absolute A-GAME today.

hopefully we can turn it around and avoid a 2 game losing streak (would be quite ironic to start another streak so soon )
