For some reason, Tomko has chosen Kent to receive his filthiest curveballs, and he can't lay off them.

Imagine Kent vs. Oswalt... eeeeouch, JK would be gone looking 9 times out of 10.

EDIT: That's probably ballgame... let Duckworth throw a fatty to Bonds, and lets watch him jack one out (so they don't show any other highlights tonight, cause there aren't much for us).

I realize the game is over now, but did anyone catch that curving strike that Redding threw that was called a ball. This umpire has been terrible all night with his strike zone.

CB Bucknor is known as the game's worst umpire behind the dish.

I said before that he probably has some of the lowest # of pitching duels per his games, because there is no strike zone with him.

Sometimes, he'll call it for the hitters... sometimes for the pitchers... he honestly has no clue.

"Back up the truck, BACK IT UP!"

If they don't win tomorrow, the season is over.

I disagree with this ... They need to win the next 2 to have a GOOD shot at making the playoffs

Lets say they win 1 out of the next 2 and Chicago loses 1 to Pittsburgh. Being out 2 to the Giants with the schedule they have left is not far from impossible, and 1.5 back of the Cubs is the tough part, but still far from a miracle.

With that said, here's to the Stros winning the next 2 games and not having to worry about being 2 back of the Giants.

It's all about momentum. We need to turn in it in our favor. Whoever has it has the mental advantage.

I think they can afford to lose as long as the Cubs do to. I have no doubt that the Gints aren't going to make the playoffs with their schedule.

I disagree. I think that the Giants will make the playoffs, and not as the WC winner.

Oswalt had better win tonight, or the season's effectively over. Biggest game of the year.

    Question:

ESPN has Pete Munro starting the first game of the Miluakee series.

Since we had a day off on Monday wouldn't it make sense for Clemens to start that first game and pitch on normal 4 days rest. Not only does that allow him to pitch sooner, it also allows him to pitch the 3rd game of the St. Louis series. If we go with our normal rotation we have Munro pitching the 3rd game of the St. Louis series and I just don't feel comfortable with that.

Has Munro been announced as the starter for that game, or is ESPN just basing it on our past rotation?
