    Pitching Probables:

Aug 1 Fernandez, a righthanded knuckleballer who is 7-10 (3.81) at Triple-A New Orleans, was recalled on Thursday to start Sunday in place of injured Roy Oswalt. Sunday will mark Fernandez' first major league appearance of 2003. For his major league career, he is 1-4 with a 4.43 ERA in 19 games with the Reds. The Astros designated Peter Munro for assignment to make room for Fernandez.

Nice to see a well-pitched game from Redding.

From anyone who watched the game, did his pitches *look* as good as the score line?

I still remember when a lot of people thought he'd be better than Oswalt. It'd be great if he'd fulfill those expectations now.

    Haven,

Tim was on. He looked outstanding, and the marlins only scored on two bunt singles(one by beckett that hugged the chalk) and a bad call on a DP, as the ump said pierre beat it out. He didn't.

So in essence he really allowed in my opinion 7 innings 3 legit hits and no runs I'd consider earned.

Even if you take out bad calls(our balk, the pierre safe call), houston wins 1-0.

I think Redding very well might step up and be the pitcher we need with Roy on the shelf, and if anything else his last two starts have been very encouraging, as has his season so far.

I believe that one win was against us. Seems like he blew us out of the water.

Imagine if J Pierre or L Castillo get on base against Fernandez (our knuckleballer).... they might as well take the next base, cause they will steal it easily.

Fernandez was lights out against us... and he credited that to the fact that Minute Maid Park's roof was closed that day. Apparently, his knuckleball had more movement than he'd ever seen... lets just hope that Ausmus can catch it.

Hey, what is up with that BALK call? WHat is it?

Like...is it when the pitcher fakes out the runner? I mean pitchers do throw to first instead of pitching to the batter when there is a runner on first...

so what is a BALK? peeking at the baserunner....i dont get it...

Anyways...good win by the stros...and really well pitched game.

    4-0 Florida in the second.

What the hell is going on.

What's worse is St. Louis won, despite a major comeback by the Mets, 10-9.

You want to know what's going on? They're jacking everything Robertson throws, and we can't hit worth squat again.

Jeriome Robertson is taking his lumps lately. Not pitching near as good as he did the first half. With Oswalt out and Miller struggling, we need someone to step it up. Hopefully Redding can turn it around and have more games like last night.

Quite honestly, I'm surprised Jimmy The Hook has let him go this long.

Damn...what a horrible game. Astros couldn't hit sqaut. Right when it seemed we would have a great comeback...it ends.

2 runs scored...2 men on...Kent up to bat...strikes out... inning over...

    game over.

I was at the game, and the stros really stunk! Florida is a MUCH better team cause they play with heart! Houston plays with NO desire
